We are a couple (25/26 years old) staying at James hotel in the end of august 2016. We booked a room without breakfast/lunch/dinner. The place is really beautiful. The pool area is clean and looks amazing. The hotel lies directly at the beach with clear water and a stunning ocean view. There is no street/beach promenade between the hotel an the beach - very quiet and no disturbing sellers at all. Shops and restaurants very close to the hotel. The hotel lies in a village between Lardos and Lindos. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Especially the morning receptionist (I think her name is Lollo) a Swedish living on Rhodos is a star! Ask her for her sightseeing recommendations and you will get self-written tour description for the middle and southern part of the island. Rent a car and explore. We have seen sides of the island we don't want to miss! It is a really beautiful island! The receptionists can help you with a cheap car rental. We bought fruits and snacks for breakfast in the supermarkets nearby and had a lunch snack at the hotel. We recommend Gyros Pita which was delivered directly to the pool. Eat dinner at Popis garden restaurant. The food is excellent and the staff amazing. We also tried the other restaurants in the village, but Popis was the best!

The only negative thing to say is that the rooms look a little bit old, however it was clean. Besides that, the bed were two single beds next to each other, which made it hard to get body contact. In addition to that the dishes we used in the room (there is a small kitchen with fridge, cooking plates etc.) where not washed by the housekeepers, but needed to be cleaned on our own.
These are the only areas of improvement we can think about.

The general impression is therefore 4 out of 5 and we can highly recommend this hotel!
And the weather was perfect. We did not see a single cloud in a week - not a single cloud!

I can imagine us coming back one day!!!

Perfect hotel if you want both beach and pool. Pool sunbeds are always available, beach is within a minute´s walk. Hotel itself ok but very basic except service which is perfect. AC noisy but ok, rooms large and not very charming but everything you need is there (unless you need room service). Pool bar serves breakfast and lighter meals all through the day and half the night. Great service and quite nice food! Wi-fi is supposed to be available in all public areas but sometimes it works in the room as well. If you stay really still and are close to the bathroom and prefer surfing the internet at 5 AM... Beds are hard and pillows quite flat but it didn´t bother us much. Bring or buy some string to use for wet towels and bathing suits, nothing available except balcony railing. The beach is not very beautiful but it´s not crowded and the water is clear! Several supermarkets close by and a few restaurants. Pizzas at Mare Matto are really good! The village (Lothiarika) is very small but we could do without the touristy shops and bars (which can be found in abundance in Faliraki, Lindos etc). Nice place for a calm, unwinding holiday. At least until you reach the airport to fly home. Diagoras airport is the worst airport I have ever seen! First a long line to the check-in desks, then an even longer line to drop bags, then another line to security. Of course no AC. And extremely expensive food in the one café available! Thanks Rhodes, we won´t come back...at least not for a while.

Just spent a week in Greece with my better half in James hotel.

Pros:
The service, view and surrounding cities were great. Great personnel at the hotel, who took Care of us and were friendly minded.

The food at the hotel was great, however the breakfast was at best mediocre. You decide between four different courses all consistent of either ham, cheese, bacon or eggs.

The surrounding restaurants in the City have a great variety in their menu cards, and their ceasar salad, pasta dishes and Local meals were great.

Cons: As a teacher I needed access to internet Daily and even more. The internet connection was very slow and impossible to reach from their apartments.

Regarding the apartments they are fine but does not look like the pictures used by the travle Company. We expected more.

All in all 7/10 - if you like to getaway from the hotel a car Can be rented for 30 euros + the gas you used per day. We went to Rhodes and lindos and had some great times watching the old City in Rhodes and The old castle in lindos.

Both places are however disrupted by the numerous cafees, shops selling jewelry or same t shirts and bags.

We just loved this hotel! The location, the staff, the poolarea, the beach and the food! Everything was great
and you are only 10 min with bus from lindos. we only stayed here for 3 nights, but we would definitly go back here. only thing i was'nt to happy about was the bed, verry hard, and verry thin pillow.

We travelled "unspecified" and got this Hotel. We were sattisfied because it's so close to the beach. The beach consists of a lot of stones though, so we took the bus to Lindos to tan on the beach. Nice hotel, good service. One receptionist even speaks swedish. Nice pool and pool-bar. Too far away from Rhodes city for a couple of 20-something girls, but a great hotel for people with kids or older people. AC on every room made the stay even better.
