The Hotel is in an excellent position close to sport beaches and relaxing beaches. Even without renting a car you have the best of Zante beaches at your feet.
By renting a car you can reach distant destinations and more beaches. We had only breakfast treatment and that was what you need to start the day. The place is very well run by Alessia, Italian speaking. Anything ask and you will get solutions in return. We selected this hotel for our second trip to Zante and we really loved the place. If you have problems walking be careful as there is no lift, only stairways to get to the highest floor. Select a floor level room instead. So highly recommended!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor are quieter

We stayed for a week in early September on the 2nd floor of the reception block. The room has lovely views over the garden and nearby Ionian Sea from a private (partitioned) balcony with welcome shade. The hotel is very spacious and in a lovely quiet place. If you want active night life don't go to Vasilikos, but if like me you enjoy a peaceful beach & pool holiday in a traditional Greek community then this is the place for you.
Being on a peninsular there are a variety of beaches, all within a 2 minute walk of the hotel (no steep hills). Production of your room key at the St Nicholas Beach will get you free sunbeds & beach umbrella. There are active water sports available if you want to do more than lounge and swim in the sea, but they don't dominate the beach as they do in some places.
The Hotel's pool area is simply wonderful and very spacious. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and no-one felt the need to get up at the crack of dawn to lay claim to them. If you want to cool down (other than in the pool) there's plenty of comfortable seating in and out of the shade of the lovely trees that surround the pool and pool bar.
The bedrooms are typically 'Greek' with a fridge but no kettle (take your own if its important to you). The room was spotlessly clean and with the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept in at any hotel. Bed linen and towels are changed after 3 days, but you can pay for a more frequent service if you feel the need. All the staff are welcoming and friendly, so if you need any advice on where to go, hiring a car/bike etc you can't go wrong. The free Wi-Fi at the hotel is excellent.
There are a variety of traditional tavernas serving good food all within a minutes walk from the hotel, so no chance of being bored in the evening.
For us, the minibus transfer from the airport with Thomas Cook took about 40 minutes with drop offs in Argasi first.
You won't see a Thomas Cook Rep during your stay, they are more interested in the livelier resorts, but if you really feel the need to contact them you can do so by phone, email or text. Return transfer times come up on the Thomas Cook App so just chill out and enjoy this superb base for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: If you have a problem with steps, make a request for a ground floor room. The upper floor of the Reception block has good sea views.

The peaceful location, friendly hotel staff, beautiful pool and local facilities are all covered in other reviews - so I will try to address a few other points that may not have been covered by other people...
I would agree that the rooms are rather 'tired' but understand that there may be some refurbishment taking place in preparation for 2019. I would like to suggest the following:
* There is a real need for mosquito screens across all doors and windows in the rooms
* A kettle in the room as standard would be a relatively inexpensive but very welcome addition to the fridge
* Please consider changing the towels a little more often. Once every fourth day is not enough for people who go to the beach and are likely to be showering more than once a day
* A little more variety at breakfast would be nice and prepacked individual honey/jam portions would be preferable to the large open jars in which the wasps like to literally immerse themselves
* Raising the poolside parasols and making them a little higher would prevent people from walking into them. The metal frame and thatch top are very unforgiving and I witnessed several people fall victim to them!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's basic but clean, and the service is excellent.
Just as an aside, if you book to stay here through Thomas Cook then don't expect any rep presence at the hotel. I would advise taking a smart phone with plenty of data usage with you as any contact with Thomas Cook once you arrive at the hotel is by phone/email only, including your return transfer times.

Zakynthos is very crowded, if you're driving it's hard to find a place to park. This hotel is a bit far away from the port, streets are narrow and it may take an hour to get here but it's worth it. Lovely rooms, wifi, swimming pool (we spent only one night here so didn't have a chance to get to the beach but my folks said it was great). Continental breakfast included and you can order eggs or omelette at additional cost. Nice patio where you can have your breakfast enjoying the nature. Definitely recommend for families with kids. I believe our room was 127 overseeing the garden
