As a party of 3 visited on a midweek evening. Take care or you'll miss the venue which is situated on top of the apartment block in the centre of Almyrida, access is via a lift in said apartment block, non- residents are more than welcome.
Once at the venue you enjoy the best view, ambience and setting in Almyrida. There is areas for those wanting just a drink or diners also. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Venue is spotlessly clean.
The menu is refreshingly short, there aren't over 200 variations on a theme. This is a restaurant providing quality not quantity. Don't expect to walk away 'stuffed' but do expect to be satisfied with interesting flavourful dishes.
Mushrooms bruschetta ; oyster mushrooms with Gorgonzola and rocket. Big meaty and beautiful mushrooms a sure hit.
Haloumi salad; not difficult to get this right but also a hit
Mussels in a tomato broth. Beauty.
Starters are all €5-8 range
Squid ink risotto with prawns and mussels only elicited an OK from our diner
Seafood linguine (tomato sauce) was delightful, perhaps lacking some seafood but a hit nonetheless
Beef tagliata with goats cheese also ticked the box, but maybe lacked some carbs (?)
Mains tend to be €10-16
Puds; big disappointment. Saffron panna cotta was rubbery. Chef came to explain that's what happens when milk interacts with saffron? Not sure, but if that's the case the pud doesn't work
Pavlova was lacking cream and fruit and was therefore too dry.
Puds are €5 ish. But like I say a miss.
So why 5*. Well the place is the best we've found in Almyrida. Well worth a visit.
All in cost including 6 or so glasses of house wine and pre dinner cocktails about € 90 well worth it.
Clearly better than a lot of what's available on the 'strip'. In fact I'll have to revisit some previous reviews to give this suitable pre eminence in Almyrida.
