We have just returned from our second stay in Almyrida. This time we stayed in Villa Dina as the the guest of the lovely Artemis.

The view was spectacular from our apartment even though we were on the ground floor. The apartment was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. I hadn't packed a hairdryer and when we arrived there wasn't one in the apartment either. Artemis produced a boxed, brand new one instantly!!

We found the apartment to be very quiet at night despite being just a 5 minute walk down the hill to the hustle and bustle of Almyrida (10 minute walk back up!)

It had a good air conditioning unit which was housed in the bedroom, but did keep the whole apartment cool and comfortable even on the hottest day (41c in the shade!)

Almyrida has a great variety of restaurants catering to just about every taste. We are both vegetarian and we did manage to eat very well during our stay.

Our favourite place for lunch and the occasional evening meal was Dimitris located right on the beach.

We are beach people and love nothing more than a quiet spot on the beach with a good book and a little shade, which is easily found in Almyrida, but we also like a little exercise so we took a 45 minute walk on a few days over to Kalyves along the coastal short cut (well signposted but quite challenging). Breakfast was delicious and just €5 at Mistrali on Kalyves beach, consisted of full english (veg option available) toast and jams, coffee or tea and fresh orange juice, and very welcome after a ling walk!

There is plenty do do in the area which caters for every taste, active or not so...

Would we go again? probably, would we stay at Villa Dina? absolutely!

Room Tip: Any room will provide a great view, garden is pretty and has sunbeds

We search a long time for this kind of apartment, we fall in love with the view from the picture. Number 7 was not avalaible anymore so we choose nr 3. We get a very warm welcoming from Artemis, the apartment was very light, with big doors to the balcony from both side of the big room, wonderful view over the sea, the litlle arbour downstairs, the Aprokonas, the montain on the right side. Wifi was perfect. clean rooms, good service with a smile. Kitchen with everything you need. It was nice to come back from our trip in the area, a private parking is also perfect. It was a quite part of Almyrida and we sleep very wel each night, no noise, the beds are very good also, an important thing in Greece! The bathroom was good, always warm water!
We visit a lot of things nearbury : Vamos, the Aprokonas and the monastories, beach of Petres, Chania, Georgiopoli and Hora Sfakion on the south. It was also nice to take the small roads on the oost side from Almyrida. We saw a lot of sheeps and goats on the road. Been to Therisso and Kares on the West side and saw a museum on Gavalochori, very interesting!
On the beach downstair, wich you can rich on foot, you can use the loungebed if you drink something. If you don't want to go up on foot after your meal in one of the restaurants, you can take a taxi for 5 Euros. Nice and save beach if you go with childrens. Villa Dina has also a garden with loungebed and view over the sea.
We enjoy a lot this place! Thanks to Arthemis and Dina for the services, good cleaning and very often changing of the towels and sheets. An accommodation where I feel home.
The only point : the television was te high and we don't see it very wel but artemis told us that it would be change.

Room Tip: Number 3 of 7 are big apartments with an amazing view and very big balcony

Val and I are permanent residents here on Crete and have stayed here several times. Indeed, many clients are repeat customers. Hosts Vassilis and Poppy are friendly & helpful without being intrusive. Daughter Artemis handles admin & cleaning. This delightful accomodation comprises of rooms of various sizes, spotlessly clean and well appointed. It is perched on a cliff with panoramic views day and night, not only of the village but across Souda Bay to the Akrotiri peninsula where Xavia airport is located. At night the village `neon` is a sight to behold. Likewise, across the bay to the fishing villages on Akrotiri`s south coast. Prices very reasonable, especially contrasted with 5 star hotel rates. Manicured garden. Good for couples or families. Village centre 5 mins on foot. Splendid tavernas + cafes, snack bars, and a Pizzeria. Comfortable beds & reasonable cooking facilities. Variety of trips bookable in the village. Dina has two websites, well worth the look. For an `off the beaten track` experience, yet with all facilities nearby, this is your spot.

Room Tip: Room 1, couples or family with 2 children, opens to patio & garden.

We have just returned from our first trip to Greece (Crete), where we stayed at this lovely paradise corner in Almyrida. Initially I had doubts of my booking choice of the apartment on the ground floor. But all my doubts disappeared after the first hours spent in the garden under the old olive tree with the breathtaking view on the sea and a range of mountains. Watching the sunset every evening with the crickets singing in the garden was a blessing.

The host Artemis is an extremely friendly person. She helped me to book a taxi from the Chania airport to the Villa and met us with a bottle of vine. The apartment was cleaned every other day with the crispy bed sheets like in a 5 star hotel. The kitchinette had all essential items, including a small fridge. The air condition in the bedroom was a relief during those hot weeks (up to +37) of our stay. The apartment was very spacious for two people, although I spent most of the time in the garden (when not on the beach) reading on the sun bed under the umbrella.

Every morning Artemis' father watered the garden and the plants, to enjoy its freshness during the breakfast under the olive tree after a short swim in a transparent Aegean sea with small fish circling around.

The Villa is very close to the beach, two minutes walk from the hill on the shortcut pass. The location of villa on the hill above the beach was ideal with its proximity to the beach and at the same time high up enough from the beach noise during the day.

The Villa was fully booked when we arrived but because every apartment has its own entry, we did not fill at all that it was crowded. The garden was used only by us and a couple staying in another house.

To note, there is a big parking space but we did not use it since we decided do not rent a car.

Wi-fi did not work in the bedroom but it was fine for me. By the way it worked perfectly in the garden.

I had the most relaxing vacations ever and felt home at this wonderful place. I strongly recommend Villa Dina for those who are looking for a privacy and calm restful vacations. I left with a clear decision that I will come back to Villa Dina with a great pleasure.

Thank you very much Artemis!!

Spent a very enjoyable 2-week family holiday in Villa Dina (Apt 3) last August. The apartment is spacious and spotless and the view from the balcony is breath-taking. The very friendly and efficient Artemis was on hand to meet us when we arrived, and to assist with any queries during our stay. The apartment is 4-5 minutes walk from the long and sandy beach and the many nearby tavernas in Amlyrida, although - as others have pointed out - it is quite a steep climb. Would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.
