we had room 2 which is one of those which has a fantastic balcony looking out over the sea and bay towards Lixouri peninsula.
Rooms are fine, typical Greece although plenty of wardrobe space,a flat screen tv and a nice bathroom. It also had unlimited hot water which is a change from tepid if you are the last in the shower at the hotel.Breakfast is on the patio which again has great views and there is a good choice of food with always 1 hot dish and certainly there was more than enough each morning.
Altogether a lovely place for a week away.

Room Tip: rooms looking over the bay at the back are the best.

First time in Kefalonia, and Assos was an amazing place to start, with Cavos inn feeling an authentic, calm and a perfect spot to stay. We had room 8 which has a lovely side view of the sea and fab sunsets. Rooms are traditional, simple and v. clean, and the breakfast (or anytime u wanted ) area overlooking the sea covered in colourful flowers was lovely. Assos is what you imagine in "picture postcard " ideas of Greece, and we loved it. If you want to go anywhere u will need a car, and once youve got the hang of the roads, and the windy access down to Assos with accompanying goats sunbathing in the road, it's good to pootle about and visit different beaches and inland. The Assos beach though was pretty with a bar/restaurant just by it. We also went into fiskardo for a trip on a trad sailing boat with a marine biologist where u can snorkel in clear water off the boat and then learn about sea creatures that are brought into the boat before being returned to the sea. It was a top trip. Loved Assos, and would definitely stay at Cavos Inn again.

Cavos Inn is a wonderful place to stay for a hassle-free, quiet and relaxing trip. It is in the quaint town of Assos which is on a secluded peninsular and the hotel rooms 5 and 6 (I think 1 and 2, also) overhang the cliffs into the turquoise waters. The rooms are classic Greek B&B style, moreover the view and location makes up for it.
There are only 9 rooms, and it is adult only. Most people are either on honeymoon or older clientele looking for a quiet spot. It is both romantic and sufficiently quiet to tick both boxes. Breakfast is a time when you can share experiences and chat about the plans for the day. It is a real family vibe, here.
Rooms are cleaned daily, they are spotless. The location is just up from the beach, around 150m away. All restaurants are really close, but Assos is so tiny everything is nearby! The staff are very helpful and we really could not fault it. It is not a full service hotel experience, it is a B&B. As such, do not expect to be actually in the hotel for much time. There is just so much to see on Kefalonia, and even in Assos. Make sure you take the walk up to the castle and always hire a car as there is no way of getting out of town without one unless you want a really steep and long walk!

Room Tip: Room 6 has the best view. It is a double. Room 5 has the same view but is a twin. Room 4 has no view but you can use the breakfast terrace.

I have been to Kefalonia many times over the last 20 years, but never stayed in Assos. It is a truly magical place, where the people are very special indeed. Mariana does an amazing job and we stayed in Room 1, which was small but absolutely wonderful and had the most amazing view to die for. We will certainly return as soon as we can. We made some wonderful friends along the way and cannot wait to see these people again.

First visited assos about 12 years ago & thought it was magical - it still is. Mariana is amazing & works so hard to look after every one. Rooms are great - basic but all that you need! Will be back again very soon
