We arrived at the pub just on 12.00, the first to arrive, and received a pleasant welcome. There’s a very large car park and there is seating outside and in the garden, I expect it’s lovely in warm weather. The pub itself is larger than I expected with rooms knocked together, plenty of beams and nooks breaking up the space.
We had very tasty pizzas and a glass of red wine each, only one had room for dessert, followed by coffee. We were surprised by the large number of staff, 7 or 8 that we saw, and service was good.
We’d just said to one another that we’d happily return to eat here again when a large dog was brought into the pub. After a few minutes it wandered into the open pizza-making area and the young man who made pizzas played with the dog, stroking it etc. We really hope he went to wash his hands before making any more pizzas - this was just before we left, so weren’t there to see if he did.
