Very busy. Had to share a table which I do not like doing. Food nice but I feel overpriced. Soup and coffee £7 - nice but a tad expensive.

Thank Christine H

Hi Christine, and thanks for reviewing our cafe. We've been more surprised than anybody how busy the cafe has been this February, and thanks for allowing us to split the table of 4 on which you were seated into two tables of two to accommodate the couple who were waiting to be seated. It's the reason the majority of cafe tables are two-seater - so that we can adapt the available space on the fly with the minimum of disruption.

It's also great to read that you enjoyed your food and drinks, and that by scoring your visit 4 out of 5 you found the overall experience did justify the price. We are only a family garden centre cafe, but with a food menu that's completely homemade and quality barista-made coffee we're trying hard to be more than your average one.

We visited this place for a late morning breakfast. Top quality.

Pros.
1. Easy to find and great parking
2. Warm atmosphere and beautiful interior
3. Friendly staff and good service
4. Food arrived quickly and was tasty

Cons.
1. Breakfast served until 11.30, not 12.00 as advertised online
2. Coffee was not served until the food arrived.

All in all a very nice little place.

Thank David H

Hi David, It's great to hear you enjoyed your recent visit and that we hit the mark in lots of ways and more importantly, in more ways than not! Apologies for the slip-up on the downloadable menu on our website, I hope it didn't cause you any inconvenience and thanks for pointing it out.

To briefly explain the arrival of the food shortly before the coffee, we always attempt to get orders to tables as fast as is practically possible as PipTree can be quite a busy place at times, but in practice the list of coffees to prepare is often longer than the list of meals, which sometimes results in the food arriving at your table first. Coffee made properly takes time of course, but hopefully it was worth the wait... Hope to see you again soon.

Took my daughter for lunch while she was home from uni. We both loved it, such a beautiful place, extremely friendly and welcoming.
Good selection to choose from off the menu. We both had bacon and brie paninies ( we was on table 23 ☺).
The staff were lovely.
The cakes look amazing we didn't have any as the paninies filled us up as they were so tasty with a good side salad.
Thank you to the staff for a perfect lunch and atmosphere we loved it.
From the bald man and blonde haired girl ☺

Hi Dave,

Great review, thanks so much for sharing your experience of PipTree! Trip advisor is a very popular point of reference for many first time visitors, and without folk like you taking the time to write them I'm quite sure we'd reach far fewer new customers.

Table 23, the big one in the corner, is a new addition to the cafe, and is reserved for groups of at least 4 people, but we'll let you off seeing as you left such a glowing report, haha. We're really pleased you and your daughter loved the styling of PipTree, enjoyed the atmosphere and everything you had to eat too. We'll be sure to keep an eagle eye out for a bald man and a blonde haired girl visiting in the near future, thanks!

Thanks very much for your review of our cafe Sarah H - glad you've found us!

PipTree has now been open at Collyers Nurseries for around 18 months, and in this short period we've already built up a loyal base of cafe regulars, but surprisingly we've found we're still welcoming plenty of new visitors through the doors each week as word gets out.

It's great to read that you enjoyed your meal and our friendly cafe atmosphere, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
