Although this time we were only able to stay a very short while once more Liz and Jon made our visit to La Petite Tour so very worth while. They have always made us feel so welcome with every comfort assured. The French breakfast served to us has always been extremely substantial and at times a little more than we could manage! Once again we were sorry to leave but hope to be back again soon. Our thanks again to Liz and Jon for being such wonderful hosts.
This is our second visit to Puissilicon. It is a great location, just a half hour drive from the small airport at Bezier. The tranqullity of the village is amazing, surrounded by vineyards with a backdrop of the beautiful mountains.
We enjoyed some great days out from this base including kayaking on the river Orb and lazy days on the mediterranean coast. Both are about a half hour drive away.
La Petite Tour is a unique place to stay, climbing the spiral staircase to the accommodation suite certainly gives the place character. The facilities are of a very high standard, spotlessly clean and including tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, enormous en-suite and a separate sitting room so pleanty of space to relax after a day out.
We arrived for our four night stay at La Petite Tour where our hosts were waiting with a warm and friendly welcome. Liz and Jon the English owners immediately made us feel very relaxed with a chilled glass of wine.
When we were shown our beautiful apartment on the top floor of their characterful house we immediately knew that we had chosen the right place. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable and the adjoining sitting room a very pleasant area to lounge and plan our following days. The en-suite shower room was second to none and nothing had been forgotten All the accommodation was spotless.
We had been driving for a few hours and were ready to eat. They gave us directions to a wonderful little bar less than five minutes away where we ate very well and spent the evening. Next morning after the lovely provided fresh French breakfast we were ready to explore. Puissalicon has many hidden and interesting buildings to see and visit, especially the local wine domaines! On our last evening at the La Petite Tour we took a ten minute drive to the fabulous Chateau St.Pierre de Serjac where we wined and dined in style.
We plan to return to this lovely area and next time stay a little longer as there is so much to see and experience...our helpful hosts Liz and Jon being the icing on the cake (gateau)!
If the idea of staying in a quiet village central to many Languedoc-Roussilon sights is what you are looking for, La Petit Tour is the perfect choice. Even better, if you have ever dreamed of sleeping in a suite adjacent to your very own Rapunzel tower, you have found your B&B.
La Petit Tour was a last minute choice for us and we are so glad we found it. The lodging consists of a huge, comfortable bedroom, a sitting room and ensuite bathroom. An in-room fridge, tea kettle, bottled water, coffee, tea and biscuits were provided. Oh, and unlike most of the other places we stayed on our trip, there was a hair dryer! From the very central location we could visit wineries, the lake, the seaside and quaint Languedoc villages. The lovely French garden was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a long day of touring the countryside.
It seems that on every trip we take, there is always one place that stands head and shoulders above the rest. That place was La Petit Tour. But the best part of the B&B was the owners, Liz and Jon. The wonderful British couple did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Without doubt, if we are ever again in the Languedoc area, we will be sure to return to La Petit Tour.
Wonderful, comfortable quaint restful holiday experience. If you are looking for a base with the Mediterranean and National Park within 30 minutes, then La Petite Tour is wonderful. Suitable for a couple or three, with access to your room via a spiral staircase in a delightful French Medieval Village. Liz and Jon provide attention to detail and spoil you with kindness. Rise in the morning from the peace and comfort of a king size bed, open the shutters and windows and let the French warm air in. Relax in your own reading room with coffee or tea surrounded by books to plan your day or enlighten your local knowledge. Settle in the breakfast room or garden and be waited on by your hosts and commence the day with a typical French breakfast.
Value for money, local wines, peace and relaxation....Tres Bon, Madame, Monsieur....A Wonderful Southern France escape.
