Stayed many times previously ticks all the boxes for a Japanese hotel. The Route-Inn is always a consistent offering.

With the very high number of foreign and westerners staying at this hotel as it is close to Fuji Speedway, they could after all these years offer a better pillow selection.

Some rooms offer a massive view of Mount Fuji..just go to be lucky to get one of those, otherwise car park view it is.

Room Tip: Typical Route-Inn offering always consistent and clean

It's decent enough; beds are very hard but I personally don't mind. Room is on the small side but nothing unusual for Japan. Customer service is a bit lacking, but I didn't come here to make friends. Yeah, nothing amazing either way about it; the free breakfast and close proximity to the station are enough that I'd stay again if I was in the area.

Room Tip: Obvi you want the Fuji side, but on a cloudy day you won't see a thing.

Didnt end up using this hotel overnight as we got trapped on Fuji the night before but got there nice and early when we came down and they had kept our bags for us, had a shower and nap and had a great breakfast downstairs.

Lovely room, exactly what was needed after a long 24hrs on Fuji.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Fuji

I booked this hotel at the last minute before going on a Mt Fuji day hike (buses leave several times a day from Gotemba train station to Mishurimi 5th station and to Gotemba 5th station). I would have preferred a hotel in the center but they were all fully booked in early August. The hotel is nice, regular rooms, good wifi and fine breakfast. The only negative comment I have is that the beds are very hard. This hotel is located about 2 km away from the city center, and the best way to go downtown is to take a taxi, which costs ~1000 Yen. Walking is possible but not very pleasant since it’s mostly along large busy roads. The hotel is surrounded by chain restaurants (Mc Donalds, KFC and Betsy’s diner) but there is a smaller Italian restaurant just across the parking lot that serves very tasty pasta dishes. Finally, the advantage of being out of town is that you can see Mt Fuji from the hotel. Ask for a room with view on the volcano!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on Mt Fuji!

This is a reasonable hotel for a short stay to break a journey and for a launch point to Mt Fuji. The rooms a typical business type hotel - small rooms with limited free floor space for luggage. Bathrooms are small but functional. Beds are on the hard side. I had been sleepoing on tatami mat floors in Japanese Inn's so I was looking for a softer bed. Alas it was not to be had. Hotel staff are helpful, with a reasonable level of english procificency. Breakfast is busy. There is a queue at certain times for tables. Both Japanese and Western style food is available from the buffet. There are a number of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.

We travelled by local bus to Lake Kawagouchiko for the day. Is a good day trip if breaking a journey as it offers spectacular view of Mt Fuju across the lake. A tourist bus ticket that allows unlimited stops at points of interest is sold at the station on arrival.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the werstern side of the hotel for great views of Mt Fiji
