This beach is only about 30 minutes from Dawei city, and is accessible by bike/car/bus.
But being the easiest beach to access means that there are a lot of people, both local and tourists (compared to other beaches on the peninsula).
It not very clean. The sea itself is not that beautiful...
There very good restaurants on the beach, and the over all atmosphere is very relaxed and nice. The locals are, as in the rest of the country, are very friendly and easy to interact with.

Thank Alex G

Very different from the deserted Nabule and Grandfather beaches but a pleasure not to be missed. This is a busy beach frequented by Myanmar people with a waterfront of restaurants and stalls selling food, drinks, clothes, and renting out inner tubes for swimming.

We have eaten the best barbecued fish at Maungmagan Beach. The Seafood is also delicious. Try Aung San Restaurant. When the tide is out the beach is a great place for a bike ride. There are bikes to rent at the beach.

Compared to the other beaches on the peninsula this is less beautiful.
Access is easier that's why more visited, mostly by locals.
It's also massive but more dirty.
A lot of restaurants & places to drink.
Sunset here was superb!

If you hire a motor bike it’s about 1/2 hour, the road winds around through a couple of villages and then there is a sign to the beach. The road ends at the Maungmagan Resort, but you can turn off anywhere before and end up at a restaurant or a shop on the beach. There are probably 50 restaurants and by the time you get there, there will probably be 100.The long curved bay have a fishing village on the north and one on the south. The guesthouses and beach bungalows and restaurant after restaurant are in the middle. Seafood is the thing. Sand is fair and grey at low tide, locals everywhere enjoy swimming (often) in there clothes and in truck tyres. Fishing boats come in and turn around, back to the shore as baskets of the days catch are carried, on a pole between two people to the shore. This is an emerging area and the locals are friendly and keen to be of assistance, the prices are very cheap. If you make it to the southern end of the bay, you will find two things - a thatched hut fishing and boat building village and a beach that demonstrates in the most devastating way, what plastic is bling to the earth.
