Owner description: Kakadu is spectacular to look at, but immensely more interesting when on a Kakadu Air flight you receive a running commentary about the things you see, and many that you can't. On fixed wing aircraft flights the commentary is researched, recorded and delivered by long term Kakadu experts, via headsets.

We did the 1 hr flight over Kakadu and the falls in the wet season (feb 2017).. we have three young children (4,8,10) and was worth every cent. I'm so glad we decided to do it! The whole experience was amazing and our pilot was fabulous. I even got to sit up front with the pilot too which was an amazing experience. Don't think about it just do it.

Thank Belinda C

We were in Australia as part of an organised tour and our guide let us know that the falls were closed but the recent rain meant that they were really flowing well - this persuaded a lot of us to opt for the flight and none of us regretted it.

We arrived at the airfield and into the terminal - we had to give our name and then be weighed before our flight. There were some seats, some bathrooms and souvenirs in the same building. We then headed out with our pilot to the plane and had a group photo taken and got on board.

Everyone had a headset and there are recorded bits of information played over it when you pass above certain sites. Our pilot was great - he took several different passes around the main waterfalls so that both sides could get photos - it helped that we all knew each other on our plane so could lean across and take photos anyway. We also saw the Croc Hotel and the mine on the way back. At the end, we got a copy of the group photo as a souvenir as part of the flight price.

I've been on a couple of flights before and really enjoyed this one - it was great to see the falls from air given that they were closed on the ground.

Good Morning,

Thank you for your positive review, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your experience with Kakadu Air. The falls are closed via road access this time of year so the perfect way to see them is by air and they are definitely in flow.

We hope you got lots of photos :)

we did this air tour because all the falls were closed. first time in a small plane for our 3 kids under 10. they all enjoyed the experience and got lots of good photos, saw the main falls and circled the croc hotel we were staying at and saw the big mine. Got a good idea of how big the park is from the air.

Good Afternoon,

We are very pleased to hear your family enjoyed their first light aircraft experience and what a perfect way for them to see Kakadu National Park. I am sure the highlight of the tour for the children would have been seeing the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel from the air :)

We did the flight from Darwin to Kakadu with a Yellow Water cruise. If you're planning on seeing Kakadu, I can't recommend highly enough this trip. It was sensational. Treated like a VIP all day, stunning scenery from the air, great time in the park. Our pilot Tristan made the trip even better with his extensive local knowledge, fun personality and great flying experience. Also he is fantastic at landing that small Cessna xx I would hate to be on the bus tours that look crowded and not unique at all. This trip was incredible. We will be flying with Kakadu Air again in the near future.

This was the highlight of my recent trip up to Kakadu it is simply stunning to see Kakadu from the air and see the Jim Jim falls and other waterfalls from the air. Since you can't access the falls during the wet season it is the only way to see the waterfalls and it gives you a greater appreciation of just how big Kakadu National Park really is.
