“Even better then I was hoping”
Reviewed 24 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

I booked the cottage to take my mum and nephew for a weekend break. We wanted a quiet place that we could play board games in front of a warm fire and spend some time away from it all. The cottage was exactly what we wanted and more. The owner is friendly and informal and the area is stunning. I will be back with the mrs as the place is prefect for family's and couples. A lovely place to be.

We have just stayed in Curlew Cottage for two nights and had the most wonderful time, perfect for a romantic break away. The cottage was extremely well equipped and beautifully presented through out. The bedroom was amazing with the biggest bed ever. We will definately return one day, hopefully soon. Perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area. Plenty of wonderful walks and lovely local villages.

“Excellent. Possibly the best rental we've ever had in terms of welcome”

We stayed for 3 nights last week and the cottage is just lovely. Jo makes a real effort to make your stay special. You are greeted with milk, butter, cake, tea and coffee all there for you, as well as all essentials like cleaning stuff, and toilet rolls. Just what you need on a break, and the cottage itself is a great base for Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, areas.
It was immaculately clean, we take maybe 5-6 breaks away a year and this is up there with the best equipped and most comfortable rentals we've had. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

“Beautiful quiet cosy cottage”

Curlew cottage made for a lovely weekend for my girlfriend and I. Jo was very welcoming and the lemon drizzle cake was a lovely surprise as a welcome! The cottage itself was very cosy, and had everything we wanted. The local area is very nice and easy to walk around. There are a couple of nice local pubs and a local shop for anything you might need to pop out for. There's also a farm shop on site that sells jams and pickles etc which were very nice.

“Beautiful cottage in picturesque countryside”
Reviewed 15 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Just returned from a long weekend in Curlew cottage. We wanted a quiet location in which we could relax but also close enough to towns/villages for day trips and we weren't disappointed.
The cottage was just perfect for a couple with everything you need for a cosy and romantic stay. We were unfortunate with the weather but there were plenty of DVDs to watch in the cottage and a gorgeous big woodburner to drink tea by.
The cottage is set on a hillside with fields in every direction you look. Had we not had heavy rain we'd have definitely gone out exploring. The nearby pub, Abel's Harp, is worth a visit and walkable through fields and nearby farms.
Jo was exceptionally welcoming, making herself available but not intrusive and even left us a homemade cake for our arrival.
I would definitely recommend this place to others and would even look to return in the summer so we can make more of the scenery.

Thank you. If you come back in the Summer you won't be disappointed - the Shropshire Hills are glorious at any time of year but particularly lovely in the summertime.
