The drive in from the south west side had us thinking "Where are we going, there cant be a brewery out here", a few more Km's later, a few more bends and there is the Brewery on the edge of the national park, overlooking the grape vines. James was polite, provided a wealth of information about his own Brewery and Winery, but also information on the regions breweries, distilleries and everything in between. We had one night booked in the region, but after talking to James we wished we had booked longer.
The main bit - THE BEER - This isn't your typical craft beer that has recently flooded the market, this is proper craft beer, every single Beer had it's own uniqueness yet delicious. It's actually the first stout beer I've really enjoyed and was an eye opened that good stout can exist. We will be back again, but plan longer and include the recommendations from James.

Over the Queen's birthday long weekend we were up at Bright. In our hotel room we were given the Glenrowan Food & Wine Festival brochure so we decided to go and visit the wineries advertised. After we had breakfast at Bright (thank goodness) we made our way to Bailey Winery followed by Black Dog Brewery/Booths Taminick Cellars- it was busy there but not overly busy.
Anyway the only food available was this food truck on the premises- which i find quite irresponsible to be offering free wine tastings and hardly any food to purchase.
Got to the food truck - the menu consisted of 3 choices of pizzas, 2 burgers and 2 chips - very limited. It was 1.40pm and the lady said it will be a half an hour wait so i paid for a Margerita pizza - half an hour went by then another half an hour so at around 2.40pm and still no pizza in sight i asked the same cashier how much longer and she goes another 15 minutes - waited another 15 mins that turned into 30 mins and by now ii was after 3.15pm with no pizza in sight - I was getting pretty cheesed off - there were only a handful of people around now and everybody was complaining about the long long wait for food after we were all told the same sob story that there will be half an hour wait. The cashier told me you can have your money back and no real explanation why the food wait was so long and I really got cross and said to her so what are we supposed to eat when nothing else is on offer. At the end we got our money back and drove to Beechworth and had a nice dinner there. The point is that it was very poor form to organise a Food and Wine Festival with limited food for sale and such a long long wait - this was an organised event so they should have had an idea that quite a few people will visiting therefore they should have catered accordingly. It really spoilt our day out - luckily they had a band playing at this venue while we waited otherwise it would have been worse. Not sure where the food was but plenty of wine to purchase

What a hidden gem this little brewery turned out to be but well worth the drive. We were the only visitors at the time and James allowed us to take a table and chairs out into the sunshine where we set up our own picnic food and washed it down with a selection of Black Dog beers. We purchased a good selection of the beers to go as gifts as well as for ourselves. Well recommended if you are in the Glenrowan area. Just keep following the signs to the Glenrowan vineyards about 15 Klms out of town.
