Great holiday home in Northern tip of South Uist, with stunning views and sunsets that made us not want to leave. The three large bedrooms and tv room with sofa bed gave our family of 2 adults and 4 kids ages 9, 7, 7, 4 loads of space to relax and play, there is also a large back garden and and everything is fenced in so the kids were always safe from the road. We could spend hours just speaking to the sheep in the next garden.
The house has every amenity you will need away from home and there a number of large grocery stores within 5-10 minutes drive that are open till late. The house has been lovingly restored by the owners to a very high spec, and the decor is very warm and fresh.
The beach at Clachan Sands North Uist is the most amazing white sand beach with shallow turquoise seas that perfect moments are made of.
Cant wait to book our next trip back to this beautiful part of Scotland.
Located on the rather flat northern end of the Island, but interesting surroundings, wonderful back window views to Hecla and Beinn Choradail (the biggest mountains), flowers everywhere, and huge beaches within easy walking distance. Close to South Uist's main road, too. The house was large, very well heated (important if the weather does its worst), and not expensive.
Excellent accommodation with all mod cons. Perfect base to explore- on foot and by bike. Would recommend a visit to Barra. Highlight was returning home on a cold windy day to the underfloor heating!
The house has obviously been recently completely renovated by the owners, and was very warm and cozy for the whole of our stay, with everything a family would require.
We all slept really well in the very comfortable beds, and it was a lovely place to spend time inside even if the weather was a bit windy at times! Lovely views front and back, a friendly welcome and our son spent hours watching the sheep outside his bedroom window and the farm opposite.
The Coop, only 10 minutes away on Benbecula, was really well stocked (so you don't need to take anything with you) and the Hebridean Jewellery shop & cafe is only a short walk if in need of coffee and cake!
Would definitely recommend, and hope to return again soon.
Located centrally for exploring the Uists from Eriskay to Berneray and convenient for local services (shops, cafes, restaurants, swimming pool etc). Despite the wintry weather in February, the cottage was lovely and warm with all the amenities a family of 5 would require. Nice to stay in a self catering that has been designed for that purpose - plenty of bathrooms, space, and kitchen utensils with good underfloor heating. The owners clearly care about the property and their customers and we'll hopefully be back.
