Three friends and I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay over a long weekend in February. The house has an idyllic setting in the middle of a lovely little working fishing harbour and a line of superb old fashioned sea front fishermens' houses.
The house is literally a stone's throw from the beach and the long natural groynes looked to be perfect crabbing territory. Beautiful surrounding coastline (which we explored on a walk to the next village for a pint) and 3 miles or so from a cracking golden sand beach at Elie.
We were there largely for golf (and got lucky with the weather). We played a stunning course at Crail which set us up nicely for excellent local Pittenweem fish and chips and further beers.
I must say that the house itself is kept like someone's very loved home (which I'm sure it is) - very well equipped, good furniture (and comfy beds) and lots of very handy local guides, maps, birdbooks, games and spare sets of golf clubs.
There is also a very pretty, well kept and cleverly landscaped garden which creates a stunning visual impact as you arrive. I certainly would like to visit in BBQ season one day to use the top patio area with its sea views.
Highly recommended for all sorts of trips - family holidays, couples retreat, boys weekend of golfing (!), or just for visiting the area (perhaps for St Andrews which is only a 15 minute drive away).
Enjoy, we did!!
