Orkney can be of course somewhat wet and windy, so we were fortunate to have brilliant sun for most of the time we were there - you can't beat it . The sea visible from the house was blue and sparkling , and because the Italian Chapel is visible and in walking distance , we could time our own visits to avoid the tour buses and their crowds ! The house was really comfortable , clean and fresh feeling , with plenty of space upstairs and down for the clan to spread out . Plenty of parking and accessible by public transport too, if you are prepared to walk from the bus stop. . Very well supplied with kitchen equipment , not to mention the hairdryer in every bedroom . Ample storage everywhere . Sheila was very warm and extremely helpful when we asked about our particular needs .
Although the Hus is not specifically set up as a disabled friendly house , the downstairs wet room was a big plus in booking this accommodation for our group , and the addition of a couple of grab handles would enhance its marketability further .
It would be good to take advantage of the constant wind by having somewhere to hang the washing up outside - yes , even if there's a bit of rain ! And on sunny days , a designated space to sit out and enjoy the rays would be fabulous .
Orkney is a tremendous location for an offbeat holiday - rugged, wild, quirky; but still with all the conveniences of modern life. This is a really superior house in a great area, with amazing views, great accommodation and with a really homely feel. Highly recommended.
Had a fantastic time at Navnlos Hus, very very well equipped house, modern and excellent place to stay and return to for a cosy night after exploring Orkney for the day. Could not find any fault and would highly recommend to anyone
