This cottage reminds me of the film "The Holiday", picture perfect with a village pub.
You reach this idyllic cottage via beautiful country lanes with immaculate thatched cottages and breathtaking countryside. The first thing that you notice is how peaceful and quiet it is, the only traffic being the odd tractor.
This is the ideal romantic weekend/girly break/family holiday. It really does tick all of those boxes as it is located centrally to all of the main Dorset attractions. Beaminster is only a five minute drive away with good restaurants, a local bakery and tea shops. On a Saturday and Wednesday nearby Bridport has a farmers market and a Waitrose to stock up. West Bay (location of "Broadchurch") has a stunning, clean beach perfect for kids and dogs.
The photos do not do the cottage justice. It is larger than it looks and would easily house 5/6 people.Well furnished with an Aga, quality bedding and immaculately clean this is not your average dated and dusty holiday cottage. I advise a drive to Washingpool Farm Shop to stock up on homemade cakes and local gin before going back to the cottage. Light the wood burning stove, kickback and relax. Stroll down to the village pub with your dog, remember to take a torch as the village has stars to light the way, a little tricky after a couple of drinks!
Plenty of walks for your dog and you can do as much or as little as you choose in this location .The owner has left a very useful guide of things to do and the distances to each place.
I would recommend staying at Old Sawyers equally in the Summer or Winter, it would be an incredible place to spend Christmas.
