“Comfortable stay”
Reviewed 14 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Stayed here for one week. The setting has a great view and is on a more remote part of the island. I would say it is preferable to have a car. We did use the bus but the timetable can be
restrictive. The house has lots of space and the coffee and tea were appreciated on arrival. We did enjoy our stay but be advised that you have to drive or take the bus to get groceries as there is nothing nearby. The nearest supermarket is Lamlash. My only minor complaint was the lack of a decent frying pan to cook food in. The house does not have internet but does have cable. The owner lives next door and was very pleasant and helpful.

Thanks you for coming to Barnstable. As I advised the buses run in conjunction with the ferry, so it is much easier to get about if you have a car - return fare from Ardrossan for car is only £30.20. I will check out the frying pan, and if necessary renew, I''m sorry it didn't suit.
Lovely family and left the island smiling despite having probably the wettest week of the summer ..... so far!!

“Lovely cottage in idyllic surroundings”
Reviewed 1 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed here for a week with our 2 young daughters. Cottage was everything we hoped for from a holiday cottage, and had everything we required including a high chair, travel cot, washing machine and dishwasher. Very spacious house (the website doesn't give the impression of how big it actually is), with a lovely garden with truly stunning views to Ailsa Craig and the Mull of Kintyre. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
