“Perfect escape to the county in a cosy, homely cottage.”
Reviewed 14 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were welcomed with chocolates and a selection of hot drinks (and some milk!). The owners were very helpful and quick to assist us with any queries. The cottage is so clean, cosy and comfortable; I was particularly impressed with the softness of the bed and the reclining sofa! The bathroom was also bigger than I expected and I definitely appreciated the bath! The wifi worked well too. I was actually quite glad on the day when it rained heavily and we "had no choice but to stay in". That said, the area is lovely with lots to do and see. We didn't have a car, so we were a little restricted in that we couldn't travel to attractions further afield, but there are lots of beautiful places nearby to walk in the woods and by the river. There are also lots of great places to eat and have a drink as well as supermarkets and shops within walking distance. The only challenge was crossing the busy roundabout to get to Ross-on-Wye and back, but it was quieter at night at least!

“A fantastic little getaway in the beautiful Ross in Wye.”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We had a fantastic stay at Warren Cottage. It is small and cosy and was perfect as a base to explore the surrounding area and sample local beer and food! I loved the spiral staircase and the bedroom was like a little hideaway. We would definitely stay here again.

“Small but perfectly formed”

We had a very enjoyable short break in Warren Cottage. It's smaller than it looks in the pictures but is very well designed and equipped so we lacked nothing except warmth. It was very cold when we got there and it hadn't been warmed up for a while, I guess, so although we got the wood burner working (with coal) we were very cold the first night. After that we were fine. It's about a 25 minute walk from Ross but crossing the A40 on foot in the twilight was terrifying so after the first time we took the car with us. There are lots of great places to eat and things to do in the area. Our highlights were dinners at the Mill Race and the King's Head and visits to Hereford, Symonds Yat and Slimbridge.

Perfectly located to see and do lots.. we stayed for 3 nights and visited caves, castles, cider presses and many museums. There's a lovely walk straight from the cottage alone river past castle ruins and to a quaint church. There was milk and choc waiting for our arrival. Cottage spotless and really cosy. We are already booked to stay again!
