“Wonderful night in Normandy”
Reviewed 4 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My parents, sister and I spent a lovely night here before going to Normandy in July. We stayed in the family room, which was spacious easily accommodating us. Everything was clean and had what we needed for the night. It would have been great to stay longer but our schedule didn't allow for it. The location was easy to get to and was really cute. It is literally across from the church. Breakfast was good and our hostess Gaetane was very accommodating and easy to reach by email. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

“Excellent Authentic French Stay with an Historic Touch!”
Reviewed 30 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My husband and I with our two teenage daughters stayed at this enchanting bed and breakfast. A farm house from the 1780's converted to a lovely suite by our warm, artistic hostess, Gaetane. Fresh coffee, hot chocolate and organic apple juice from her neighbor's farm, served with homemade jams and fresh croissants/baguette and an assortment of French treats started the day with the charming church bells tolling an 8 am wake up. Located about 15-20 km east of Caen, we were well situated to visit the numerous WWII sites, including Juno Beach, Canadian War Cemetery at Beny-Sur-Mer and Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery. Would definitely recommend and we are looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for the wonderful stay Gaetane!

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 24 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Our family loved staying at La Ferme: a short drive outside Caen, this hidden gem is nestled in a small village surrounded by grain fields. This 18th century estate has a lot of French charm, complemented with Gaetane's lovely breakfast of croissants, baguette, homemade jams, latte, hot chocolate and even locally produced apple juice from a farmer friend in town. If you are interested in history, you will find it fascinating to know that this little place was once in the center of one of the more well known tank operations of WW2. The owner, Gaetane, has many stories to tell about her family's time during the war.
The Ferme worked well for our family of 5 - our teenagers particularly appreciated the fast WiFi, delicious breakfast, a lovely garden (with donkey), and our spacious rooms. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Note: The map on TripAdvisor is not accurate - contact Gaetane for the precise address.

“A superb french experience ”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed with Gaetane as a family of 4 for 3 nights. The family room was lovely, quirky and rustic. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. The downside might be accessibility as the room is upstairs in a converted barn. The access to the shared cooking area is not for the faint hearted as is up a ladder. The plus's are many. Gaetane is a marvelous host, speaking good English and happy to share her knowledge of the area-her family have farmed there for generations. The breakfast is to die for! Fresh baguettes and croissant with yoghurt and home made jams, 2 or 3 each day. Hot milk for the kids to make chocolate and pots of coffee to drink from your bowls. All served in a beautifully converted breakfast room with gaetanes artwork all around. The location is remote, but is 2 mins from major road and 8-10 mins south of the caen periphique. I would definitely recommend this accommodation, thank you Gaetane for a lovely stay.

We had a very restorative and relaxing night with Gaetane. The room was clean and attractive, the surroundings idyllic complete with many pieces of art and a lovely donkey! Breakfast was delightful and we will definitely make this a regular stop off if we make the same journey.
