“Calming, relaxing and scenic. Paradise with 'cooler' weather.”
Reviewed 25 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Fabulous location, the ever-changing view is captivating and worth the journey alone. The 'secret' beach and the walks to and from it are essential for anyone staying at Carnish. Keep an eye out for eagles, seals, guillemots and gannets. Good fishing along the coast and excellent location for gentle sea kayak paddling. The cottage was well-speced, warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the view..did I mention the view?

“Stunning location”
Reviewed 21 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

What a wonderful house this is. Commands wonderful views of the truly remarkable Uig Sands with easy access to the hills, moors and lochs behind, and the machair and the beach to the front. Teeming with wildlife and birds, this is a remote hideaway on an amazing island. The lounge becomes truly cosy when the fire is lit (yes, needed even in June) and the kitchen is well-equipped. Easy access to the local distillery and the salmon smoker at Uig Lodge and the Scallop Shack at Maivaig are worth visiting. There is a land-line for emergencies and mobile signals can be picked up from time to time on the island - the house would be unbeatable if there was wifi included. A lovely week, and we are sorry to see that the house is not available when we would like it next summer. We will try again!

“Wonderful cottage with fabulous views”
Reviewed 6 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This cottage has amazing views over one of the most photographed beaches in Lewis. The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable and warm with a lovely enclosed garden with it's own rabbit population- great for my dog! There are lovely walks to close by deserted beaches surrounded by amazing lewisian gneiss rock formations. We spent hours on the beach playing with the dog watched by the local seals. There are white tailed eagles in the area and a huge number of other bird species, including golden eagles and black throated divers. Would highly recommend the cottage for it's comfort, location and most of all the views from every window.
