I visited this restaurant with my wife and 6 friends based on its good trip advisor reviews. The journey took about 40 minutes from our villa in the mountains and on our arrival I was disappointed. The restaurant initially appeared to be a small corner cafe but we were escorted upstairs to a large dining room which lacked character but was comfortable. We were the only customers that night.
It appeared the staff consisted of the elderly owner who was the chef and his wife who was the waitress.
There is no menu and the waitress spoke no English which was fun. We agreed on a starter of a variety of pasta dishes which were all good.
The second courses were disappointing. I chose a pork dish which consisted of 2 thin slices of pork in a lemon sauce. We all shared 2 small dishes of chips and a “ salad” which was a bowl of chopped lettuce. 3 of our party chose a vegetarian option that looked strange and included a lump of cheese.
For desert we all asked the waitress for tiramisu. She initially said that it was not available today but she negotiated with the chef who kindly said he would knock one up for us all and presented us with an amazing desert.
The service was efficient and nothing was too much trouble.
As we left the restaurant we shared a complimentary glass of grappa with the chef.
In summary, a pleasant evening. Not worth the 40 minute journey but the restaurant would be ok if we were staying more locally.
