“Wonderfully cosy cottage”
Reviewed 8 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

We had a wonderful time in this incredibly cosy little cottage. The cottage is tastefully decorated with lots of lovely little touches that really set it apart from other holiday homes we've stayed in. The fire is a highlight (although do bring your own logs, firelighters and kindling as the owners do not supply any of this), as is the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Other reviewers have mentioned that Yew Tree cottage can be chilly- as someone who really feels the cold we came prepared with extra blankets and jumpers but there really was no need! Once the electric heaters had charged up it was almost too hot! It was so nice to come in from our long frosty walks to the warmth and cosiness of the cottage. We stayed over Christmas and found the kitchen well kitted out for cooking Christmas lunch- the oven is particularly brilliant. We would recommend Yew Tree Cottage 100% and would very much love to stay again.

Oh and one more point- the pub in the village is being reopened soon which will be a massive plus for any future guests!

Just arrived home from a wonderful weeks stay in Jonathan and Caroline's beautiful cottage. The cottage is approx 200 years old with all the old charm with a modern twist. Everything we could ask for was in the cottage which made for a lovely relaxing stay for all the family.

“Cosy cottage perfect for country break”

We had a great time during our stay at Yew Tree Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful, very nicely decorated inside and surprisingly spacious. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. We were very comfortable there during our stay, it is the perfect cosy cottage retreat.

Timberscombe is a lovely, quiet village in an excellent location, it is just five minutes' or so drive from Dunster which has nice shops and cafes; it didn't take long to get to Minehead, and the great beach there; and Timberscombe is not far from iconic Exmoor locations such as Dunkery Beacon. We were spoilt for choice with nearby activities.

We were staying with our 16-month old daughter and were very pleased to find that Yew Tree cottage provided a high chair as well as a travel cot and toys for her to play with. Thank you! The only suggestion we'd have to make it even more baby friendly is perhaps a stair gate.

Very comfortable accomodation including a great mattress on the king size bed. Everything that could be required is supplied even a selection of childrens toys. Excellent communications with the owners.
Shame the local pub has closed has down. Otherwise, all excellent.

“Beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 13 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This was a fantastic contrast to our normal city living, the cottage is lovely. Everything was provided including two chests of toys which my daughter was thrilled with. It can be a little chilly in the evenings but was fun to try out the wood burning stove. There are lots of great places within an hours drive ans some great beaches to explore. Jonathan's information was very clear and helpful.
