“Stunning cottage in breathtaking location.”
Reviewed 29 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

What an incredible cottage. Booking was easy and efficient with great communication from the owners. When we arrived, the cottage was immaculate and beautifully finished. Fell in love with the kitchen as soon as we walked through the door. Our 19 month old loved it and it was extremely safe for her to explore. All rooms were cosy and welcoming and we loved nothing more then cooking in the amazing oven and relaxing in the lounge with a glass of wine.

The local area is just amazing, and Timberscombe was the perfect place to explore from. Also, a beautiful little play area a minutes walk away which was fab for our daughter.

Cannot recommend this cottage enough and can't wait to return next year! Simply flawless.

“Great cottage and area, but no decent food within walking distance and church bells ring at night.”
Reviewed 20 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

A well-equipped cottage (especially with games and computer games if you have kids) and helpful owners by email beforehand. No outside area to sit nor possibility of loading immediately outside, though parking is only a short walk. Great beds; living area a bit dark though kitchen good. Village pub disappointing - basic pub food and no atmosphere. Village has no shop (tho a PO open mornings only that sells eggs but nothing else). Cottage very clean on arrival and great not to have to clean on departure.

“Beautiful Cottage.”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just come back from an excellent week at Yew tree Cottage, the cottage is beautiful and charming (my wife fell in love with it) everything is supplied in the cottage that you need and the cottage has been renovated to a very high standard with under floor heating in the bathroom which is lovely and the very deep bath which is also lovely. Your about a 15 min drive from Minehead and Dunster is a 10 min drive, Lynton and Lynmouth are a must very pretty place.. Would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone. The only thing I would say is there is no Wifi some people might like that but I had a 9 and 14 year old without wifi and no network.. (Not the owners fault the network) but like I said still wouldn't hesitate to recommend... Thank you Jonathan and Caroline..

“Great Cottage”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Had a great time in Exmoor and Yew Tree Cottage which has everything to help your holiday to run smoothly. When you arrive you will love the beautiful farmhouse kitchen & log burner, comfortable beds even down to the small touches for the kids a playstation if the weather was wet.
Parking was not that bad, i parked my car all week up the small hill about 30 sec away from the cottage next to Methodist Church Sign. A tip for all is to be away from Timberscombe between 6-7pm on Sunday as parking is impossible unless you are already parked in your spot before the church goers arrive. On Thursday about 7-8pm i guess you have the bellringers but they didn't really bother me. Ok the only grumble was the bells that went on the hour not to bad for 1pm one bell but 12pm yes you guess it 12 bells. (sorry Jonathan)
There are many places to visit like Dunster with its cafes and inns and Dunster Castle, i did enjoy visit of Minehead and flying the kite at Dunster Beach and its walks within Exmoor.

“Beautiful House, Lovely Area”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Yew Tree Cottage was really a lovely place to stay. The house is about 200 years old and still retains many of its old features whilst having many of the modern facilities. It's situated in quite a small village, with a nice view of the church. Despite being rural it's only a couple of miles from Dunster (which is lovely with plenty to see) and Minehead (about 4 miles). There's loads of see in the local area - you can head into the moors, visit the coast and many more. The village park was quite a hit with our little one who visited most days. They've got hundreds of flyers for all the places worth visiting nearby which is really useful. There was also two chests full of games for kids as well as a Playstation 1 with a box full of games for older kids.
