Steak every night, desserts to die for, Extremely comfy sun beds, immaculate rooms and beach, bar service very good, staff very friendly, ticked all the boxes no complaints here would definitely recommend. 3rd time in Maldives and Meedhupparu did not disappoint.

This was part of a the second leg of a sri lanka and maldivian tour.

Check in was excellent, drum playing on arrival from sea plane, golf carts to main bar, check in was easy and quick. When you land here this is every bit what you would expect to see from a Maldivian Island, gorgeous light blue waters and white sands.

Beach villa was excellent very clean, close to bar for drinks. Ali cleaned the room in the mornings and evenings very well, and was very pleasant.

All food at meal times was also excellent, a lot better than we expected, and a very good choice. Waiter Ghassan was excellent.

Bar area was kept clean, and drinks were served very well.

Resort as a whole was extremely clean, from the public toilets, to the eating and drinking areas, to the pathways around the resort.

The one thing that made this place special was how friendly the staff were while walking around. Pretty much every member of staff would say hello which was really nice.

There is a house reef, although there can be quite a current sometimes on the island so my wife, who isn’t a strong swimmer, didn’t go out too far. We did hear about people who were snorkelling off the pier though and they said that they saw some great fish a bit further out.

We also went and watched the evening fish feeding off the North pier which was nice as you got to see some rays!

The only problem we had was that on one or two days quite a bit of rubbish/food was washed up on the beach. We can’t be sure if this was from the resort or not, although I think it probably was as we understand food waste is dumped at sea. This was cleared away by staff in the afternoon although I’m surprised it wasn’t addressed earlier, and also surprised that there was rubbish such as plastic and foil mixed in with the food waste. This would have made it a 4 star review for me, but as everything else was so exceptional I think a 5 star review is still more fitting.

Would have no issues recommending this resort to anyone.

Dear danbillingham,

thank you very much for taking the time and making the effort to review our hotel. We all are pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much with us, concerning the garbage that was washed up on the island this was unfortunately from another island and from their garbage boat, we have addressed this already with the concerned parties to ensure this will not happen again. We do hope that we will be able to welcome you back again in the near future.

What a stunning island. I think one of the cheaper ones, although, worth every penny! Rooms are fab, and no need to upgrade. Food at the resort, ok, always something nice to eat. We eat out at the steak restaurant and over at the beach villas, defo worth the charge! Lovely food. Beach immaculate. Not much going on in terms of entertainment, but what else do you expect, the views and aura is all you need. Would return

Firstly I must mention some amazing staff members - Kumar (pool guy), Ramsey, Velu, Nuaim, Chef Guru, Suranga, and the blonde watersports guy whos name escapes me.

Since our last trip, the food selection has expanded (I cannot say it has improved because it was utterly perfect already!) there are less insects which meant that I was bitten less, it also meant that there were less bats but I am unsure if that was related to the seasons. Still plenty of bats to be seen though. The tea and coffee facilities had also expanded and the pool had been through a renovation which was a good improvement.

The first time we went, we had a vow renewal ceremony which was tailored to our requirements, Velu helped to organize the extras for us and really rounded off the day. Because of the wedding we didnt really do any excursions, but this time round we did several.

Turtle point was fab, our tour guide (the blonde guy!) was really good, he took our cameras and got closer to the turtles for us, and he ensured the whole group was together and all safe and happy. He also guided us round the manta ray area which was an experience, and on the way there we were fortunate enough to see a huge pod of dolphins.

We also did a sunset cruise which was included for free as we were repeat guests, and we did a shark feeding trip which was well worth seeing but maybe leave it til the last day if you're a keen snorkeler as it was a bit daunting!

on the topic of snorkeling, we saw eels and octopus just off the north jetty, the reef seems to be improving and see conditions were just right.

evening entertainment was not bad, there were also some presentations on water and energy conservation which I thought were great to raise awareness. I don't have enough words of praise for this beautiful island, it feels like a home from home and I met people who have been 9 times already, which I think says it all.

Be prepared to come back feeling relaxed, and wondering when you'll next be there.

Room Tip: all rooms are perfect, north side is quieter and good for snorkeling, south side gets good sunset views and is closer to the bars

From the moment we arrived at Meedhupparu it was a fantastic experience.
We had a 40 minute sea plane trip from Male airport. Great views across the Maldives on the way.
We arrived at the jetty to a wonderful welcome from the staff. We were taken to the main bar where we received a refreshing drink and our room keys.
We had a beach bungalow (212) not far from Cafe Mass (24hr bar)
The bungalow was clean, fresh and looked after morning and night by our lovely room boy. The best bit was the outdoor shower. Tea and coffee available in the room. Mini bar (extra charges apply)
We ate in the large dining room. There was a massive variety of food. From curry to salad to meats and pasta at all meal times. We has a reserved table for the whole stay and the same waiter so he got to know our drinks order pretty quickly.
It takes approx 20 mins to walk around the island.
Weather was lovely day and night. Very hot. It was a welcome relief to come back to the air conditioned room.
There are several bars around the island. One of them is open 24 hrs.
The pool bar has a swim up bar.
Not a holiday for those that like to explore as there is nowhere to go really. However if like me you like to do nothing on holiday then this is the perfect location.
We went on a speed boat trip to snorkel, we saw Dolphins, Turtle and endless fish, snorkelling is great.
We had a meal on the beach. Food was great but a bit pricey. No need to eat on the beach as you can eat at a restaurant which is almost on the beach for an extra cost of $25 per head. Three courses steak meal. Great value.
It was my first time in the Maldives and I definitely hope to go back there. I would definitely recommend Meedhupparu.
My tips: Take lots of sun screen. Tip generously..... the staff work very hard for long hours and low pay. They really appreciate tips.

Room Tip: All beach villas are great
