Recently returned from our second visit to The Shooting Folly. This is the only holiday place I have been back to - it is just that good - and I don't think this will be our last visit. The cottage is a wonderful mix of original features lovingly restored and modern amenities. The hot tub is of course the icing on the cake. Located on a quiet dairy farm outside of sleepy Cheswardine, it really is a perfect peaceful getaway.
We stayed three days for my 60th Birthday, a superb property and location to stay in Shropshire, lots of places to visit, excellent places to eat, Goldstone Hall for Afternoon Tea, Fordhall Organic Farm for lunch . This Folly has everything you need for a very peaceful stay, the owners have thought of everything, even a Hot Tub !!! We left feeling fully relaxed and recharged, great hosts Steve and Tracy x
Just returned from this perfect cottage in Shropshire.
The folly was exactly as described in all of the literature and the photos really don't give this gem justice, firstly it was easy to find and then on arrival it was spotlessly clean.
Our only neighbours were a herd of cows and they were even quiet! This truly is a cottage to escape to and unwind, this cottage lacked nothing. We found the location good for exploring and hope to make a return trip soon.
Well what can i say this place is like no other we had such a lovely time and in the area in general but its the folly that`s the star of the show its everything and more that the brochure describes cosy ,quaint, beautiful well equipped the hot tub is to die for, if you live in the city you will never hear perfect quiet you will here
we have re booked to come back in September 17 and will probably come back again after that
We came here for a few days after our wedding for a "mini-moon". It was ridiculously cute, peaceful, and luxurious. The owners were friendly and popped in to see us and to check on the tub, but mostly they let us get on with it, which was great. It is a lovely quirky cottage - tiny but perfect for two. Just be careful not to bang your head on the low beams upstairs!
Everything you could possibly need was catered for: the kitchen was brilliantly stocked with equipment, there were brollies, blankets, films... and of course the hottub!
It was so cosy and tranquil. It's really in the middle of nowhere with cows for company and fields all around. Recommend bringing plenty of food supplies - we got a breakfast hamper provided by the owners which was filled with goodies (although a little on the pricey side). There are some lovely walks in the local area too. I couldn't recommend it enough! We will be back.
