This Hotel was very old fashion in a bad way and had an unfriendly owner. The room was bad cleaned and instead of a king-size we got two separate beds. We loved the view but the whole visit was a big disappointment.

After many attempts to find the hotel website in English and an online booking system to book direct, I gave up wasting my time! There isn't even an email address on the website to contact the hotel. I finally booked with an agent only to be informed there is a 21 day cancellation or 80% penalty fee - this is why I only book direct and not with agents.

Look no further than Walter's Hof! It was exactly what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations. First of all...i grew up working hands on in our hotel, restaurant, bar for 38 years and know the demanding nature of running such a business. The owners are also hands on and are keeping a friendly, watchful eye on the guests with ease and efficiency. Antonia, Martin,Doreen and Rafael always made us feel at home and kept us smiling each time we crossed paths. The decor has a really "hip and happening" vibe....with great music in the background to set the scene. Our room was perfect offering beautiful views of the sea and rolling dunes, and cottage country homes. We were attending a 4 day wedding event so we kept to a strict festivitie dining schedule in other places due to parties BUT the breakfast offering was fabulous and we had a wonderful meal the last evening before catching a later flight off the island. Our pasta dish was perfect...delicate tagliatelle with fresh mushrooms and light mushroom emulsion sauce..with freshly grated parmesan. Martin sat us a a cozy table with spectacular view in main dining area...and provided excellent service from beginning to end. What is so special is how much is accomplished by friendly teamwork by the small staff. Everything was clean and fresh! The two gentlemen helping outside and inside take care everything looks as it should. Many many thanks to Walter's hof...we feel like a part of your extended family and will definitely stay with you again the next time we make a trip to SYLT. Big hugs, Kristin

Now where in the world can you have breakfast until 12.30 every day? On top of this the variety and the quality of the food is superb! Excellent bread selection, good cold cuts and amazing (!) selection of absolutely delicious muesli's and all sort of organic jam's and honey. The view is stunning and to top it all, the service staff is friendly and quick. Amazing!

For us it is the first time on Sylt and its great! The Hotel is conveniently located in close proximity to fancy bars and good restaurants and just a short stroll down to the beach from where you can 'easily' walk to either Westerland or List. If you dont want to walk you can take the bus or rent a bike if you dont want to use your own car, which can be parked for free right in front of the Hotel.

We booked a Junior Suite and were lucky to receive a complementary upgrade to a larger Senior Suite, which was just great! Beautiful sea view and nicely decorated. Sleep quality was excellent and considering the option of having a late breakfast sleeping in is made stress free and easy.

I am sure one day we'll be back.

Relaxation at its best!!

I am a Sylt first-timer and luckily we ended up in this small, superbly run hotel.
Since it was off-season with low occupancy we were immediately ugraded to a split-level studio on the first floor. At a certain angle you could even see the sea.
Apparently the hotel was renovated lately as everything looked brand new and was in mint condition.
Kasha from service and Kim from the reception were a pleasure to deal with, always helpfull, good humored and friendly. Real assets to the hotel!
Breakfast is served in a small restaurant on the ground floor, the coices are vastly sufficient and the fried eggs with bacon just what they should be.
The location in Kampen is great, every restaurant in the village and on the beach are in walking distance, you can park your car in the lot in front of the hotel and forget about it.
Overall there was absolutely nothing to complain about, it is wholeheartedly recommended.
Value was great due to the upgrade.
In simple words, we loved it!

Room Tip: The split level rooms are terrific!
