Stayed at The Surf Sanctuary and cruised just a few minutes down the road to this quaint pizza place. It was delicious and a fun, family environment!

A nice place to bring your family for a pizza after a day on the beach. Pizzas are really good, the staff and the owner are extremely friendly. I can only recommend this pizzeria!

La Scala is simply one of the best restaurants in Nicaragua or anywhere. Their pizza is fabulous with superb service and cold beverages. The cook came to our table to make sure our order was correct, very unusual but demonstrates their commitment to excellence. Worth the drive -- you will not be disappointed!

Our hotel mentioned a place nearby that had good pizza, and though we later learned they weren’t talking about La Scala, given the reviews we thought we’d give it a go anyway. It was a good experience, though not as good as the reviews on here would suggest. The pizza was good quality, thin crust pizza. The flavour was good, if a little samey (we had the Jamon and the Pancetta). The pancetta pizza was supposed to have oregano on it but didn’t.

We were the only two people there the entire time (6.30pm - 7pm on a Saturday evening) so it felt a bit weird. It’s not a hugely busy area though, granted.

Anyway, it was a good pizza. Not amazing, but good. I’d say this is good option as a change of scene from dinner at your hotel. But make sure you wear insect repellent. The road there is all flies!
