The review says I visited in April 2015. I've actually visited several times since I arrived in Zibo back in August 2014.
Here in Zibo (as in much of China, from what I understand), supermarkets are more like what Westerners know as shopping malls. Yes, you can buy groceries here, but also so much more. There are clothing and other shops and, here at RT Mart, you can even buy electric bicycles.
I think it's a bit strange to have to go up to the second floor in order to be able to get back down to the first floor where the groceries are, but RT Mart isn't the only supermarket like that. However, going up to the second floor is worth it. You enter the supermarket area (that's what I'm calling it) and the first things you encounter are books (especially for children) and clothing. In the clothing area, you can often find things on sale at reasonable prices. Continue through the second floor and you encounter electronics, small appliances, snack foods, paper products, cleaning products, skin/body/hair care products, among other things. Then it's down to the first floor, where you will find the groceries and the check-out counters. At this level, you will find a section of imported foods, but also the usual things you find in a supermarket: produce, meats, processed foods, dairy products, etc.
I should tell you that if you want to shop in this supermarket, bring your own bag(s). Like in many supermarkets throughout Zibo (and elsewhere), there is a charge for bags provided by the cashier.
If you're hungry, there's a Brazilian buffet on the second floor (but it's expensive) and a few places on the first floor, including KFC. There's nothing particularly noteworthy about these, however.
RT Mart is a few long blocks from Liuquan Road's Wal-Mart and, further along Huaguang Road in the other direction, Color World Plaza, LifeSpace and YiWu, all of which are worth seeing if you're an urban explorer or like shopping. Across from RT Mart is the back end of another place worth exploring, Zibo New World Commercial Street.
