You can only access the Coconut Lagoon by boat, which is a wonderful way to arrive. We stayed in a bungalow overlooking the lake and it was a very comfortable room, some of the features - like the wooden ceiling - were about 200 years old. The added bonus, a secluded outdoor bathroom, it was lovely. The pool area and pool are beautiful and I would recommend dining at their outdoor seafood restaurant In the evening - the food and surroundings are divine.

Coconut Lagoon can only be reached by boat, but don't let that deter you, it is a fascinating way to arrive and depart.
The resort has very well appointed chalets in the grounds - comfortable and spotless, although the en-suite open air bathroom proved not quite such a good idea during the night!
The main restaurant is very good for breakfast and meals, with a large choice of Kerala and other dishes. There are 2 other popular restaurants on site.
Other attractions include a full Ayurvedic massage and treatment centre, afternoon tea and local cookies delivered from a local boat at teatime, bird-spotting tours and butterfly-spotting tours. But in our view, the best thing of all were the remarkable sunsets over the water - a photographers paradise.
Finally, the recently appointed new Resort Manager, whom we met, is totally committed to ensure that all his guests have a wonderful time.

I arrived at dusk after a 10 minute boat ride. This isolated property is on the the lake "backwaters." The lodges are spread out over a large area and are roomy and luxurious given the region. The staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. I left early the next morning and didn't have an opportunity to take advantage of the numerous activities. The restaurant offers local specialties and food is excellent.

We were dropped off at a jetty where we took a 10 minute boat ride to the property, which by the way is only accessible by boat. we were welcomed in a traditional Kerala way, with a man playing the flute to greet the arrival. The rooms were actually restored 100 + year old Kerala houses with 1950 plugs and switches and an open air bathroom. the doors we locked with wooden latches. you get up to chirping of birds and tranquility.
the staff are wonderful and helpful. the restaurant has a wonderful spread for breakfast and dinner. there are no tv here. and wifi is free but signal is weak further away from reception.the have some good activities but need more to cater childrens.
after 4pm a lady serves tea from the boat, try it . its good

Room Tip: rooms facing the backwaters
