“It is a nice place to relax with a great heated pool”
Reviewed 27 June 2015 for a stay in October 2014

It is a very nice place to enjoy the holidays. Since 2012, I have gone on holiday in the Van-Gogh apartment the 3rd time. The apartment has a decent size, functionally furnished with a small kitchen for cooking myself. It's well decorated with carpets, fans and heating and lots of paintings on the walls. On the terrace you can sit comfortably until late at night. With satellite TV you can relax at the evening with a lot of channels in different languages. The hosts Nick and David are gently holding the rooms, the bathrooms, the laundry etc. always very clean and well maintained. They also serve a great breakfast that leaves no wishes unfulfilled.
You can move completely unconstrained in the apartment, on the terrace, in and at the pool and in the huge, wild garden - of course with regard to the other guests. The position from the house is very nice, parking places in front of the house and not very far away to walk to the nice center of Maussane with a lot of restaurants and cafes.
Nick and David could give you a lot of advices for some day tours and to explore the area.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a nice and relaxing vacation.

“An ideal place to stay forever”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in September 2014

Since some years I always spend 4 or 5 weeks in autumn in the "Van Gogh" apartment of the Villa La Pinède in Maussane. Meanwhile it has become something like my second home.
The apartment consists of two rooms - called "Van Gogh" and "Mabula", each with a double bed and a bathroom. "Van Gogh" has in addition a small kitchenette. Both rooms are connected by a door. In front of them is a large, covered terrace with tables, chairs, sofa and armchairs. In both rooms there is a ceiling fan against the heat and a heater for cold days / nights. The rooms are tastefully decorated with themes connected to Van Gogh and Africa. The beds are large and very comfortable. Two bedrooms are very handy when you are with more than one person. When I am alone, I can fold the bed in the "Van Gogh" room in a closet. This way, I get a nice big living and office room with a small kitchen. The kitchenette is functionally equipped with everything you need to cater yourself from breakfast to dinner. For working you have a free WiFi connection and for entertainment or information Satellite TV with countless channels (also all English and German ones!).
The apartment occupies the entire ground floor of the shorter wing of the house. So it is completely separated from other guests, just like your own private dwelling. Perfect for work, perfect for relaxing.
The owners, David and Nick, keep the rooms and the bathrooms always clean and well maintained, bed linen and towels are changed regularly. So you have no work with the apartment and can purely enjoy your vacation - for example at the pool. The pool is very large, kept carefully clean, heated at 28 degrees, covered by night to protect it against cold and dirt. This way it's always a refreshing pleasure to jump in!!
Self-catering facilities: There are a number of grocery stores, bakeries, butchers, wine, fruit and vegetable shops in Maussane, all about 5 minutes away. On Thursdays there is a relatively large market with everything your heart desires. And if you don't like to cook, you can always find something nice to eat in one of the many restaurants - for every taste, from pizza and pasta to sophisticated fish dishes and fresh seafood.
Mostly I use the morning to work, spend the afternoon reading a book in the shade by the pool and let the evening relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine. Or I'm out on the road: Avignon, Arles, Nimes, Aix, the Alpilles, the Camargue - that's all just a few minutes away.
And if there are any questions or problems: Nick and David will always be there for you.

My wife & I stayed a week in the Van Gough & Marbula rooms which are interconnected. The twin beds are joined together . Both rooms have a shower & ensuite . The self catering facilities are 2 rings and a combi microwave , plus kettle & toaster ,coffee machine. Poor lighting .Nice shady balcony but no sun in the mornings. The guesthouse is run by David & Nick who advertise the property as gay and nude friendly (. we were are a heterosexual couple ).The other male guests tolerated naturism but I felt uncomfortable about a mix of preferences. We were the first clients of the season to use the rooms we had, and asked to borrowed the vacuum cleaner . We also had to ask for the gas BBQ was to be cleaned for us.. The web site mentions about meals being provided, if requested . David & Nick cooked an evening meal twice in the week we stayed, but no mention was made to us that a meal was on offer those nights. . The pool is lovely , except that the cover remains on till 11 am and closes at 6.30 pm.it was heated & warm at 27 cent .The location is excellent about 5 mins walk into the village, which has many good places to eat, and lots of shops for food & wine, in.a pleasant enough little village .When we left neither host said they hoped we would return ,which I think sums it up my feelings too.
