Came to lapland with 3 other adult friends. We thought we may get fed up with being treated like kids, but the thomson team were great. Tinsel Tom was a nice lad who did a very good job and got on with everyone well. The hotel was quiet, clean, well staffed, and the food was ok. The rooms are an ample size with a drying cabinet for your snow suits and also a lovely sauna in the bathroom. The staff were very nice, one in particular allowed us to eat earlier than our allocated time slot when we had planned a nighttime snowmobile trip. It is situated well, just a small walk through the snow to the main town where there are a number of bars, restaurants, other hotels and some quaint shops selling all range of items. There is also 2 supermarkets within easy reach if needed. I would recommend this hotel to stay in when coming to lapland.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room that looked at the hotel restaurant. This was a very quiet room and we slept well.

Just come back from Lapland stayed at levistar apartments from 19th to 23rd December. Apartment was small but perfect for us 2. Market across the road for any essential items. Main restaurant for meals was good. Trips were exactly as advertised. Pricey but good value. Wouldn't take small kids as far too cold for them. (6-7 years old is ideal) We are planning to go back maybe for new year next time as we've done search for Santa bit now. Went with Cosmos who were brilliant. Rep's very good and attentive. Would recommend to couples and families of slightly older children due to weather.

Levi star apartments: Cosmos

This, once in a lifetime, four night 'search for Santa' holiday was for our family of four (two children aged 7 and 3) with friends (one child aged 8).
We chose to stay at the Levi star apartments as we didn't want to share a room with the children. The room was small and basic with a mezzanine level. One bed was downstairs and three beds upstairs. The kitchenette was handy. The bathroom included a sauna which we did not use. The drying machine was great and dried clothes very quickly for us.
The apartments are situated on the main road to the hotel sirkhantati which is where all of the meals were. It took a couple of minutes to pull the children there on the sledge which they enjoyed. Getting in and out of ski suits for each meal was a bit of a pain and meant that we didn't dress up for dinner but it was our choice to stay in the apartments rather then the hotel. The restaurant was ok. It was never busy, but not much choice available and only ever one dessert. Soft drinks and hot drinks were freely available during all meal times. The alcoholic drinks were very expensive (36 euros for the cheapest bottle of wine). The food was not always hot either. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly, but in no hurry to clear tables! They need to invest in a better pancake maker or chef during breakfast time as there was always a queue for the slow pancake maker.
The supermarket opposite the apartments was good, but very expensive (3.55 euros for a cucumber!) and included an off license (which is closed on a Sunday and alcohol cannot be purchased from the supermarket). The walk to the Levitunturi Hotel for the Santa feast was a ten minute walk and the centre of Levi was worth a visit for the souvenir shops. Close to the shops was ski slope which we went to most evenings to allow the children to sledge. They loved this!
We didn't book any of the expensive excursions on offer from the cosmos reps. After doing all of the taster sessions, which were enjoyed by all, the children decided that they wanted to have a longer excursion riding the huskies. We booked this excursion for our family for 160 euros for a 5km Safari in the ski shop next to the hotel sirkhantati rather than paying the 480 euros it would have been through cosmos. This trip was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who lead it. The health and safety was excellent and the photo gifts cheap. The hot sausage and berry juice in the hut warming on the fire was a nice touch.
From the bottom of the ski slope it is worth taking a trip up the mountain on a gondola. Between 4-5pm you can go inside the hotel and view the ice dome.
We spent a long time researching what to pack and where to visit leading up to this rip and there were hardly any reviews available. We invested in hand and foot warmers (the children benefited from these but adults were ok with heat holder socks with silk socks underneath), I bought ski face cream (due to reviews about water based cream freezing to your face! Stopped us getting wind burn), ski boots for the children (which they found more comfy than the ones provided), thermals and base layers, fleece tops (great for everyone). Although I would say that we only wore clothes from one of the three cases we took. We took far too many clothes. We only dressed up on the gala feast night which was extremely well organised.
The daytime search for santa was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I won't spoil the surprise about this but your private meeting is at the gala dinner not during the daytime visit (which is what I was expecting).
We had to keep reminding cosmos reps that our two families were part of the same party because they kept splitting us up at every opportunity!
All in all a fantastic holiday, very expensive, but you will only do it once! Something we will all remember forever!

Room Tip: If more than two people ensure you have a room with a mezzanine floor otherwise you will not have enough room.

Very nice hotel. 5 minutes walking distance from the center and the main ski track and 1-2 minutes from 2 big super markets. Very good breakfast with a lot of bacon :) Nice staff on the reception and the restaurant. Was there last year in December just before Christmas. We had 2 rooms with my friends and both of them had sauna and kitchenette with all needed equipment. Be careful with the clothes dryer to not be much steam... if you turn on the fire alarm because of this they will charge you 50 euros. There is a note on the door of it that warns you about that. I recommend this hotel.
