“Beautiful spacious property, great location and great views.”

Having read a previous scathing review on trip advisor I was very apprehensive about booking this property. However having confirmed the broadband availability with the letting agent Bluechip – who were super helpful we arrived at the property 48hrs later and were blown away! The chapel is spacious with huge bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a cloakroom. Furniture is a blend of modern and vintage pieces in keeping with the feel of the place. Main living area is upstairs and open plan, comfortable and well equipped. We were here to do some project work so big table, accessible kitchen area and chill out area works perfectly. Furnished terrace with stunning views accessible via 3 sets of patio doors off main living area.
Kitchen is well equipped, with loads of crockery, glasses, cups and mugs – more than enough to cater for a large party – all the usual appliances and an abundance dishes for those wishing to cook, not forgetting we were delighted to find a sandwich toaster in the cupboard – little used these days but who doesn’t love a toasted sandwich – ultimate supper indulgence! For convenience worth mentioning that Sainsbury, Morrison & Tesco deliver to the property which is really useful.
On arrival we found that the host had left us a hamper containing local produce, Bacon, Eggs, Milk, Bread, Butter, Cheese , Marmalade, Coffee, Tea & Apple juice – a lovely surprise and much appreciated. We have rented 4 properties for working purposes this year and have never received such a comprehensive hamper!

“Certainly not a 4 star property Worst place i have ever stayed.”

Arrived after being told by property manager that the previous holiday makers had trashed the place.
Felt sorry for the lady having to put it all right so never complained on arrival about the state of the place - wish we had!
Rodent faeces in food cupboards, rodent poison left on the floor- apparently dog friendly/ child friendly accommodation as we had both children and dogs.
Dirty and dusty through out.
On suite double bedroom very draughty, had to move baby from this room.
Decking slippy and very dangerous.
Property garden not secure and dogs can get into the road- allegedly pet friendly.
Constant smell of sewage from septic tank drainage.
Furniture not up to standard for 4 star property.
Lots of evidence of wear and tear and lack of maintainence such as bath not draining, key safe numbers spinning, crack in pipe on shower- when informing the property manager no answer. Informed Bluechip holidays as per policy to then be sent a bill for these items. Also accused of causing damp, breaking dishwasher(which we used to wash up final pots on last day- was working) damaging 2 swing bins in kitchen- long list of stuff ! Do not stay here! We have always rented property for holidays and very had any problems, this was expensive and the worst place stayed AVOID AVOID AVOID
We left this property x10 cleaner than when we found it, disgraceful

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with some areas of your stay

Following our communication with you to report damage which was found within the property upon departure, you gratefully then provided us with feedback regarding your stay.

Although we're always happy to help with customer complaints whenever we can, we ask that any issues are raised during the time of the holiday itself to ensure sufficient time is allowed to investigate and/or take the necessary remedial action. Unfortunately, as no issues were raised during your stay we were unable to take any appropriate action.

Since your stay, we have received very favourable feedback from guests who have visited North Lake Chapel. It is disappointing that your feedback does not mirror our other guests’ experiences.

We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent level of customer service and we can only apologise that on this occasion we fell short of your expectations.

Best regards,
Blue Chip Holidays

“Not dog friendly”

Imposing buildi which is well decorated. Property advertised as dog friendly with a fully enclosed garden.......if only this were true. Fencing has large gaps in it allowing dogs to freely run out directly on to main road. Not what we were told to expect when checking with the letting agents.
Also, if you're looking for a letting agent with a responsive attitude to customer service then I suggest Blue Chip holidays are not for you

Many thanks for providing us with your feedback. Please be assured that, in the rare cases where our guests encounter a problem during their stay, we do all that we can to put it right. Unfortunately, on this occasion we were not afforded that opportunity.

Whilst we had advised that the garden at North Lake Chapel was enclosed, we cannot guarantee that a garden will be dog proof. From previous experience, dogs can escape from gardens that to the human eye look 'enclosed' and therefore safe for a dog to be let off the lead. We appreciate that on this occasion the garden had two gaps which you had not anticipated, however had we been made aware of your concerns we would have done all that we could to try and assist you.

This event was regrettably unforeseen, and we are sorry that you made the decision to leave the property immediately prior to making contact with us.

Please be assured that we have a friendly customer care team here at Blue Chip Holidays that are more than happy to assist with any areas of disappointment during your holiday 7 days a week.
We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent level of customer service and we can only apologise that on this occasion we fell short of your expectations.

Best regards,
Blue Chip Holidays

“Disappointing for high end property”
Reviewed 24 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

Kitchen ill equipped for cooking for large number of people. Small single oven with only one rack and ,small fridge capacity. Very little work space for food preparation etc. Otherwise, spacious property for family to spread out. Small TV for size of main living area. Plenty of seating in the lounge area, but dining table very narrow for seating 10 people. Desperately in need of attention to detail to justify the cost.
