If you want to see real Tuscany and enjoy the local culture this is a beautiful place to base yourselves. The location is very good non touristic and quiet, short drive away from many interesting destinations, a wonderful restaurant Trattoria Bonini is just a couple kms away. We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa with a great view over one of the most dramatic mountains. The Villa itself is well equipped with large cosy rooms. The surrounding grounds are very picturesque especially the pool with its lovely waterfall.
You do need a car to get around. The approach road to the Villa is un made up so drive with care or you might meet someone coming in the opposite direction.
However there were frequent visits from the owners at un expected times which was not always convenient. The only scheduled visits were the pool man on Fridays and grass cutting Saturday which takes all day so not a time to plan at the pool!
The owners welcomed us warmly and could not have been more helpful in giving us tips on what to see and how to get around and where to find best local restaurants. And a nice welcome cake and some prosecco were very thoughtful.

We stayed here in July 2013. I can only echo what previous reviewers have said. The owners are very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive at all. The weather was lovely during our visit apart from a couple of thunderstorms, so we spent most of the week enjoying the view while relaxing at the villa. The swimming pool, table tennis, table football , pizza oven and BBQ were all well used. The villa was well equipped and clean.
We did visit Pisa and Lucca, both easy to reach by car, and drove up into the mountains where there are picturesque places to see and stunning scenery. There is also a very good Leclerc supermarket about 20 minutes away to stock up, although there are also excellent shops in the nearby town which sell regional produce and delicious ice cream.
Wildlife around the villa was plentiful, worth making sure you take some insect repellent and candles for the evenings! We saw fireflies in the garden and also a couple of deer.
I highly recommend the villa for a relaxing "away from it all" type of holiday. It is the first place we have ever stayed as a family that we unanimously agreed we would like to return, so I am in the process of booking next years visit already!

I stayed here for a week in May with other family members - including 3 adults and 4 children. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for us, but we still made the most of our holiday and had a fantastic week away.

The Villa is set in the most beautiful grounds. The main house is large, and there is plenty of room for the children to play, both inside and out.

I stayed in the smaller house with my husband, which is really lovely too.

The pool was great on the few days of sun. The children loved it, despite the colder days. It was lovely to sit around, and take in the beautiful views which surround the house.

My husband and sister had an Italian cookery lesson, arranged by Alessandro, the owner. Alessandra, the tutor was fantastic and both learnt so much from her. She was excellent with the children too, who all played a part in making the pasta. The price of the lessons were reasonable and for a small amount more you can enjoy the meal as a family. I would highly recommend this.

I would also recommend having the chef - Marco to the villa to cook for you. We had a great night and the food he prepared was delicious local produce. Make sure you pour him a glass of wine or two!

My husband and step son did the paragliding which was again arranged by Alessandro. It is all done very professionally and safely. They both found the experience exhilarating.

The only two very small issues I would note - We had a 7 seater people carrier. The road to the villa is quite winding and in places steep. Be aware that it isn't the easiest road to manage in a larger vehicle, especially in the bad weather. It is by no means impossible though.

The towels - I am aware that thin cotton towels are the norm in many places, however you can't beat a thick towelling towel that dries you properly. We would all have much preferred this.

We did not take any beach towels with us, but upon request we had some delivered to the villa almost straight away - great service!

All in all a fantastic holiday. Alessandro and his father will look after you without being intrusive. They were fantastic hosts. I would highly recommend this place to anybody considering going. Just book. You won't be disappointed!

Perfect for families (we were 4 adults + 7 children) with amazing garden! We had space for football and baseball games, garden aerobics lots of swimming etc. After the space, the next best thing was the pizza oven! We lid it almost every night and had most amazing pizzas. Great hosts, beautiful house, great running terrain, no complaints!

Weather was nice: light breeze, sometimes clouds and therefore not too hot (especially for children).

Gorgeous, secluded Tuscan villa with all the ingredients needed for a wonderful holiday: beautiful mountain views; huge garden; swimming pool; open fire; wood burning pizza oven and barbecue. Go with friends or family and you'll hard pushed not to have a fabulous time.
