This Chateau is a little bit out of the way but it’s beautiful and peaceful, with gorgeous views of the Garonne. It has clearly been renovated in the last years and looks great. Our room was on the last floor and was very clean and spacious. Bathroom was huge. Although the hotel was full it was extremely quiet and did not feel crowded. The pool area is clean and secluded. Service was always impeccable. Not much to do there and the restaurant has a limited menu but with a car Bordeaux is 20 minutes away and the wine region very close too. We originally wanted to stay at Les Sources de Caudalie but it was full so we went to check it out for lunch and, although the grounds are gorgeous, it felt much busier and crowded. We were very happy we ended up at Chateau Grattequina. The only criticism I would make is that there’s no gym and the internet is very slow. The latter can easily be improved.

XIXth Century deco jewel hidden in corn fields at the gates of Bordeaux, far from noise and traffic. Lying on the Garonne, visible through wide glass windows , it is an oasis of elegance and savoir vive. Excellent, pleasant and nice receptionists. Some picture inside show the palace in state of abandon before its total refurbishment by the current ownership. Interiors could have been somehow better completed and well finished, but also this after all is contributing to that kind of elegance called understatement, so difficult to face today. Great park and enjoyable swimming pool area are the right completion for the best relax. Cesare Fumagalli (Genoa)

This is a beautifully restored small chateau, right on the bank of the Garonne River, some 15 km north of the city of Bordeaux. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast is great (but extra charge). They also have a very nice pool area, perfect for relaxing on a hot afternoon. The location is perfect for exploring the Medoc wine region to the north. You have easy access to the famous chateaus of Margaux and Pauillac. On weekends, this place turns into a popular wedding venue, which can be a little bit disturbing for the other hotel guests. Other than that, we had an excellent stay.

amazing place and such a beautiful Chateau! Catch the boat into town or drive around the region. So many amazing wineries close to the region you cant go wrong. The pool was also so nice, perfect on a hot day in August!

The property sits on the river Garonne and has a lovely pool area, outdoor terrace access for breakfast or any wine drinking during the day. The staff is quite friendly and helpful with decent english and thoughtful efforts to help. Maxime and Rachel both helped us with food and winery ideas and left us smiling. The only thing that was not clear is the hotel's boat is not free and costs over 120 E for an hour to use, so not something you see on the website. I would go back for sure.
