This hotel is nice place to be.
3 weeks ago we experienced a theft of 100.000 yens (around 1000 E).
Money was hidden into our luggage and the theft happened wthin the last 3 days before departure.
My wife noticed the theft after we checked out and transited to BKK the same day.
It was too late to make a complain to the police station from BKK as we were far away from Samui.

I advise everybody who want to travel there to securely lock luggages and do not allow anybody coming in the room - Be there when room is made.

For Many years in a row we went to koh samui for a holiday after doing business in Hong Kong And when we first started going only small twin engine airplanes flew there - there was no Starbucks and no McDonalds the roads in Chewang were dirt. Wow how things have changed. Each time we stayed at the Chewang Buri Resort. Thailand is a very beautiful and exotic country and with that in mind you need to enjoy it for exactly what it is. Accept the culture and the Thai way of Iiving and doing things and you will be enriched by your experience - this is after all Thailand. I loved each and every trip to this country and what kept us returnng year after year was the warmth and loveliness of the Thainpeople, the beautiful ocean and the heat. The food is also a whole experience in itself and there is nothing that compares to walking along a warm beach at dusk and choosing a beach front reataurant to enjoy the most amazing Thai meal you will ever have in your life. Afood is fresh and delicious and yes - safe - we have never been sick once when we have been there. We love the Cheweng Buri hotel because it is clean, right at the ocean, the staff are accommodating and we are safe there. We always picked the bungalo right at the beach the very last one with a wrap around porch where your feet can almost dangle from into the ocean it's that close . Very good choice for Koh Samui

Room tip: Pick the bungalow closest to the water right by the towel guy

The only thing, Chaweng Buri resort has going for them is the location. Their rooms are dark and dingy bungalows with small uncomfortable beds and showers that switches from hot to cold without warning, the swimming pool is small and questionable with regards to cleanliness, right under flight path and airplane land and takeoff all hours of the day.  Doors and windows must be kept close at all time due to mosquitoes and bugs- other resorts of similar settings provide mosquito coils at dusk to minimize mosquitoes. Blinds must be drawn all the time for privacy (making the room even more stuffy) as other guests can see straight into the room because every room in the resort faces a walkway.
Buffet breakfast was swarming with flies and inadequately restocked at 9am albeit the stipulated finishing time of 10am and staff walk around announcing they will clear and clean up 5 minutes to 10 am sharp, making you feel like you are a burden on them for taking your time to relax on your holiday.
At check- in, the receptionist was rude and impertinent. She did not care if we stayed or leave and after a long journey to get to the island and hotel and dealing with the unpleasant manner of the hotel front desk staff and waiting on their management to sort them out, your vacation is not ruined but dampened by the foul mood.
So if you enjoy bad service and all the discomfort in Koh Samui whilst on vacation then this is the resort for you. The beach on Chaweng is not that big or long so anywhere else on the beach would have been better, just keeping in mind the northern part of the beach is muddy.

Such a good place for those who is in need of a real relaxation. Rooms are cleaned up every day, service is unintrusive, beach is clear, cuisine's just perfect! Very romantic atmosphere in the evening. The hotel is not luxurious but homely and calm. Lots of cats and a very smart dog will prettify even a bad day.

Stayed here for two nights with a group of friends. The rooms are nice - clean and the aircon works well. The location is fantastic, with the pool overlooking the beach. The hotel was also very close to restaurants, and the nightlife, on the main strip of Koh Samui. The staff were also very friendly. We had breakfast included - which was a nice buffet, which a good range of options.

There is no free wifi in the room - however can get free wifi in the lobby if you have your own device. The room did not have a light on the ceiling which was a bit annoying. Also, in the room we stayed in (had a queen and a single) the single was a very uncomfortable trundle bed. However, walking past the other bungalows, it seems were were pretty much the only room that had this issue (the others had a proper bed for the single). The queen itself was comfortable.

Overall, the stay was very pleasant, and I would stay here again.
