We had a pizza and a calzone, which were well cooked but nothing special in terms of taste and filling. Service was haphazard as the server was fairly quick to take our order but the level of attention tailed off to the point where we had to almost set up a diversion to attract someone to take our payment. We chose to sit inside the restaurant but because of the additional heat from the ovens on a hot and humid Chaweng evening it was almost unbearable despite ceiling fans above us. We agreed in retrospect that we should have sat in the open air and accepted the car and motorbike fumes.

Based on the good reviews we read on TripAdvisor, we decided to eat at La Dolce Vita, a big mistake. I do not think there has been any Italians around their kitchen. The pasta we were served was tasteless, cold and overcooked. The service was not even close to what you're used to in Thailand. The pizza was ok but no more.

The food here was very nice. The menu is large with a big range of Thai and Italian food. The service was good and they bring you complimentary breads for your meal and fruit for after your meal which was a nice touch.

We tried this restaurant last night, after reading the positive reviews on this site.
The restaurant wasn't overly busy and we got a table straight away, however it did take quite a few minutes before we were offered drinks and our order was taken.
The entrees arrived after waiting another 20 minutes, along with one main course.
This would not have been a problem if the other main course had turned up within the hour.
We finally gave up up after asking twice where it was, and having to ask for drinks whilst we were waiting as none were offered and we seemed to have been forgotten.
I can't comment on the food as we did'nt get much, but the people around us seemed to be enjoying theirs.
If you want Italian and good service , I would recommend you try Il Duomo or La Taverna, both very good.
