We have ordered Lobster soup, Caesar salad, cheese risotto and pizza. All the food are excellent.
Staff are very friendly. I went to oil massage before dinner and my body was a little bit sticky which felt like some things itching me. One of the waitresses saw me and passed me a mosquito spray. She is so considerate!!

Upon arrival you are welcomed by lovely staff then to have an amazing bread basket arrive at your table freshly baked on the premises. The menu is very substantial and the Chef Marco makes you feel like you have been welcomed into his home. Food is amazing so is the wine list. Just an amazing experience they also have air conditioned rooms. This restaurant is a must whilst in Koh Samuri

We visited several times on holiday, as we do each year. We have tried other Italian restaurants on Samui, but Prego is the only one we consistently return to. Good atmosphere, service and food. Our son is coeliac and Chef Marco came out to chat about his options. There is an extensive gluten free menu but my son has dreamt of a gluten free calzoni. Chef Marco was up for the challenge and produced a fine calzoni. Our pizza, chicken and pasta ( gluten filled) dishes were as good as ever. A lovely bonus was the home baked gluten free bread Chef gave us at the end of the meal. We had mentioned we couldn't get any from supermarkets.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel.

We were disappointed by the service. One of the employees dropped fanta. We expected a new drink with a new clean glass. They only cleaned the table and didn't replace the sticky glass.

The dinner was fine.

Really, give it a try. Thai food is great, is trendy and what else would you try if you are in Thailand. But if you are carving for something else or if you were wondering where are the good Italian restaurants in Samui, this is the place to answer both.
Excellent location. Parking is nearby and is easy to find, located as it is on the main to road to Chaweng. The setting is contemporary, modern, urban chic and perhaps too open and too large leaving little room for intimacy or cosiness. But leaving that aside, is very hospitable and comfortable. It has three seating sections (smoking, non-smoking and air conditioning) plus an impressive indoor wine cellar with a very smart and reasonably priced wine list.
The hostess and its true smile anticipates what’s coming: sincere, warm and efficient service. Contrary to what many “want-to-be-chic” places, all staff is here to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. They ALL are knowledgeable, understand the menu and are aware of what your ordered and what you need. Small extras such as the 3 dips appetizers, fresh baked bread and virgin olive oil rounds it up.
Food is outstanding. We tried the Gorgonzola Gnocchi with pesto. Fabulous, not heavy but creamy and satisfying. Then, the Tagliata of Angus beef sirloin, with grilled polenta, sitting on a peperonata, fresh, tasty with an aroma that will remind you grandmas recipes. Cooked to perfection. Spectacular. And Folded ravioli filled with ricotta & spinach and butter sage sauce. Speechless.
A good old school touch: the owner/Chef walks around the tables checking on their patrons. Not very common these days.
What can I say. An extraordinary value for the money as their prices are within reach. I have seen plenty of arrogance and incompetence on this new European restaurants that their only upscale concern is to over price just because they consider themselves “it”. Well, not here.,
If you can, make room for desserts and let us know. I couldn’t. We had a great espresso and complimentary grappa and limoncello.
What else can you ask for?
