We had a great day at Talunga the food was lovely, the service was great all the staff are friendly. A great selection of wines to choose from and a great menu to accompany the wine selection. We loved the atmosphere and the beautiful surrounding views. Will certainly return and tell all my friends about it!
When I googled the estate it said open and when we arrived the times on the door said it should be open however it was closed... do yourself a favour and keep driving. I will not attempt to eat here again if they can’t even stick to their opening hours I’m scared to see if they can stick to expiration dates! Not impressed I drove all the way there for nothing. Had a fantastic lunch in Inglewood instead.
Unfortunately there was a medical emergency to deal with
We do apologise
We dropped in by chance as our plan A, the winery next to them was closed.
Very pleasantly surprised and delighted by the service and the wines. We had a platter with some deli meats, a home made dip, some cheeses and fantastic olives.
The service was good and the venue very relaxing. At the checkout, we stumbled upon a fantastic local olive oil "Gumeracha Olive Oil", sadly only one bottle left and their pinot gris.... just had to get 2 bottles :)
Don't just stop at the silly rocking horse, drive 5 minutes up the road and pay this place a visit.
Glad you enjoyed yourselves and thankyou for your kind review
It was my sister in laws birthday party and from the onset everything seemed a bit uncoordinated, I appreciate the fact that they were busy but we had booked, originally to be outside but the weather turned a bit colder so we were given a table inside which we appreciated. However the food orders were taken on an ad hoc basis and we had to pay for an additional meal which we didn't receive because of the way the food orders were takes, the food was okay but horribly expensive $45 for a cheese platter which just had standard supermarket cheeses and biscuits probably cost less than $5 to prepare, same with the ploughmans lunch $35 for this I think just 3 slices of supermarket bread, cheap ham, 1 pickled onion and a piece of pork pie, not great value. I had the salt and pepper squid $40 and just enough for one person despite the fact the menu suggested it would serve 2 people but I enjoyed it. I think they need to get a bit more organised and possibly review the way they do things like food orders and menu pricing. It's a pleasant enough venue and I hope they take this critique on board and make some changes before my next visit.
That's a shame you did not enjoy yourself as tour sister in law was very happy
