“Parfaite vie en France”

Stayed here for a two week family holiday, really was quite perfect. Mark and Helene are wonderful hosts, it was more like staying at a good friend's house, rather than somewhere we just booked.
Mark and Helene could have not been more helpful and prepared the house with lots of little touches that made us feel right at home, they both fended off my daft questions and nothing seemed like too much trouble, even volunteering to change the mid-term clean up to suit my family's schedule. They left us alone but were on the end of the Bat phone if we needed them.
The house is well equipped and speaking as amateur chiefs allowed us all to make some great dishes which fed 10 adults. Given the quality of ingredients that one can buy locally you'll want to cook too.
We had two toddlers with us, who thought they had landed in a child paradise run by Hamley's, as there were plenty of toys and books to amuse them and keep their parents happy.
The pool was brilliant, heated to a spot on 28c and surrounded by a toddler proof gate (it was raided and tested a few times, it held up !).
Another great feature was the in the ground's Gite, a sweet little one bed room cottage, which can be used as a stand alone accommodation, giving complete privacy for who ever stays there, but easy enough to integrate with the main house.
We also liked the automatic gated court yard, which gave secure parking and a little somewhere for the young ones to mess around in.
We all felt very home sick when we left and actually missed our hosts too, now's there are not many holiday accommodations where I can say that about.

A fantastic manor house plus gite with huge garden and heated pool with child-proof access. A perfect holiday base in the Dordogne for any group or family but especially wonderful choice if you have children. Great array of toys, books, games - the most child-friendly place you could find. Brilliantly well equipped, well placed for Perigueux, Brantome, Aubeterre and the Dronne valley. Exceptional welcoming and helpful owners. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

“Fabulous House in Riberac”

Helen & Mark made us feel extremely welcome, and whilst they left us alone they made it very clear we could easily contact them at any time if we needed to. The house is beautiful we could not find any fault with it. The garden is huge and the pool is wonderful at a warm 28degC.
Highly recommended. We were a very large family group and there was enough space for us to do our own thing but also fabulous communal space for socialising and dining.
There is a fantastic market in the village on Friday which is definitely worth a visit.

“Delightful house in decent Dordogne town”

We spent a wonderful two weeks at La Charrouffie this summer. The accommodation is very spacious and well furnished (great kitchen in particular) and the grounds are delightful. The large heated swimming pool is fantastic.

The house is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Riberac, which is a decent sized town with a number of nice restaurants. The house is also well located to delve into other parts of the Dordogne, including the very pretty village of Aubeterre.

We received a very warm welcome from the owners and it felt like we were staying in a friend's house.

We would without hesitation recommend La Charrouffie to others.
