The house is beautiful and so are the gardens and workmanship. However, the owner has not kept up with the home. The bathroom sinks leaked and the showers barely put out water. The Master Bed Rooms Jacuzzi was fixed 2 days before we left and we rented the place for a week. The furniture was falling apart, 2 of the dinning room chairs were broken. There were 2 windows that we broken and could not be opened. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart. The house was said to have the following things:
Air Conditioning - only in the master bed room and it was not working up to par
Dining Seats (8)- 2 were broken
En Suite Rooms (3)
Freezer- Dominican Republic is known for power outages and the house did not have a generator that powered the fridge or the water pump so we were left without water every time the power went out
Grill- we had to buy the gas to the grill because it was not functioning
Hot Tub- was fixed 2 days before we left
Housekeeping Included- no one came to the house to clean. We had to clean and take out the garbage ourselves.
Living Room Seats (6)
Outdoor Dining Area
Private Outdoor Pool (Unheated)- the pool had no water. we understand that it is filled by a stream but it was up to the owner to clean and fill the pool prior to our arrival or offer us money back.
Refrigerator - same as the freezer
Stove- we had to pay for the gas to be filled and then the owner sent us the money we spent on this. ( this was the only reimbursement we received).
Towels Provided- The house sleeps 12 and there were only 6 towels provieded
On top of that the house was infested with Caribbean red ants and bees. I am allergic to both these insects and I was bitten while here.
