QUIET BEAUTIFUL HOTEL in Furano

Review of Furano Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Nov 2019via mobile
Beautiful Hotel suitable for couples. Room with Balcony for guest to relax & enjoy the beautiful scenery of their garden.

Suggest to have own transport as hotel located 5-10mins drive from Town.

Hotel only allows late check in, which is at 6pm. Good service of hotel staff, although they couldn’t communicate in English.

The hotel is tucked away off a countryside highway that you need you a GPS locate. One would never have guess that behind the tree line drive way sits a property that is like a sanctuary of idyllic charm. You feel instantly at peace the moment your step out of the car.
You notice there is an abundance of space and spareness both in the exterior and interior of this property. We arrived an hour before the expected check in - time of 3pm and was promptly greeted by the staff who help with us with all the formalities while serving us with delectable snack and drinks.
The hotel sits in d middle of a forested area with its own floral plantation. A golf buggy is at your disposal to explore the property at your own pace. Infact the highlight of my trip is the time spent in the evening immersing myself just strolling in this private garden.
The room is not ultra modern but its clean comfortable. All d rooms faces the hotel's own version of Furano floral garden without the hordes of tourist.
Due to d ratio of the hotel's built up area to the number of hotel guests room. There is a complete sense of privacy that makes you feel that the hotel is empty and the staff is discreetly absence only when you need them. All d meals(hi tea/dinner /bfast) and drinks are included with the rooms except for drinks ordered with your meals(dinner) If you enjoy your pre- dinner and after dinner cocktails you will be please to know its all on the house.
Service at d the restaurant varies depending on who is assigned to your table. We had a senior staff for breakfast who made the experience all the more enjoyable. Notwithstanding, all meal were exceptional to the point being obscene.
The onsen facilities though not huge in size makes up for its uniqueness.

Its a shame that the hotel didnt acknowledge that we where celebrating our anniversary and my partner's birthday as part our the trip. The overall experience was still enjoyable.
We had to climb into a long bath to have a shower which can be daunting challenge for family travelling with seniors who are less mobile and agile as mention by some travellers.

We were very disappointed in the management and operation of this hotel.
1) We were not told that we had to make arrangements for dinner in advance and since the hotel is far from the town, this would have been very inconvenient.
2) The western room we reserved was suppose to have a stand up shower, but they gave those rooms to other guests and we were left with a very high bath in which, even if you could get in (and my wife would not have been limber enough to do so) one could not take a shower standing up, because the shower cord would not extend high enough and one would get water all over the place.
3) The management was very unsympathetic and unhelpful.
So we left and found a far superior accommodation for a more reasonable price.
I would advise others to do the same.

Beautiful hotel, staff, onsen, food and drinks. Couldn’t have asked more. The room picture on the booking website definitely did not do it justice, probably from the lighting, making the beds looked old and stale colored. On the contrary, the bed and pillow were so so comfy and the room was very spacious and way beyond my expectations. This is a hotel that I’d want to come back!

Although not walking distance from the slopes this hotel was the absolute highlight of our trip. From the incredible arrival at check in with a welcome dessert and hot towels to the attentive yet discrete staff the hotel was without fail one of the best stays I've ever had in Japan. Free open bar in the evenings with a wide selection of wine beer spirits and cocktails. Roasted marshmallows and cookies by the fire in the evenings. A tasteful art gallery and furniture showroom in the basement.

(We were here in Late July 2016 indeed, which was a good time to visit Hokkaido and you can see lavender and sunflowers)

It's one of the best hotels ever! You can see a amazing lavender field from the big glass window at your room!

Don't forget to drive a golf car around the big beautiful garden! It's a romantic hotel and we wish to come back!
