This is just the weirdest place, lovely old building with a concert arena in the middle. But it was the off season when we went and only the pub bit was really open. We were able to book a room, but by 5.30 everything was closed and the staff had all disappeared. The room was large and had adequate facilities but wasn't very clean, it clearly hadn't been used for a while and hadn't been cleaned for us. Breakfast started oddly, as the lady struggled with the idea of anyone wanting hot water to drink and got quite cross about it. That all changed when the cook appeared with our full hot brekkie, it was beautifully cooked and worth the wait. Overall though I'd say that it would be better to close the hotel in the off season if you can't afford to run it properly.

The hotel needed more staff on to serve, Organisation of where you order meal is not effective. Where you order lunch the staff were also taking drinks orders which was a terrible system. We waited in line for at least 20 mins to place our orders. The food was very average. The fish was overcooked like it had been cooked twice. It was very dry and not appealing. The pastry on the beef and Guiness pie was hard and dry the peas were dry as well. The crackle on the BBQ pork pizza was like it was from a packet and sprinkled on top it wasn't fresh crackle. The chicken burger was dry.

What a quaint hotel, still in its original build. I had been there many many times to see concerts but recently went there for lunch, superb. The food, too much for me to eat, the sizes were huge, the staff were very very good, polite and only wanted to help the clientele. We even had quaint little guests watching us, the beautiful green and yellow parrots, what a delight they were, very pretty, they waited patiently until we finished (eating what we could) our meal and they helped themselves to the rest. This hotel is not far from the Mundaring Weir and has accommodation for overnight stays. I would recommend a trip to Mundaring Weir , lovely trip and eat at the local pub, excellent

I'm afraid on a couple of points we had a very disappointing experience. I rang Mundaring Weir Hotel to contact someone there, and they did not even try. On another point the pizza's came out with covers over, of which two of them had massive fungus growths on the inside, which definitely put us off the food! I would not recommend this location after two terrible experiences.

So an early morning Sunday walk on the bibbulmum has us finish up at the hotel. The plan was a couple of beers and lunch
The service is appalling the staff are lazy and incompetent
We eventually got an overpriced round of drinks then decided to order lunch but gave up in frustration and kept our money in our pockets. Trying to get a second round of drinks was equally frustrating.
The place wasn’t busy and needs help.
My advice is to keep walking past and go somewhere else
