This is just the weirdest place, lovely old building with a concert arena in the middle. But it was the off season when we went and only the pub bit was really open. We were able to book a room, but by 5.30 everything was closed and the staff had all disappeared. The room was large and had adequate facilities but wasn't very clean, it clearly hadn't been used for a while and hadn't been cleaned for us. Breakfast started oddly, as the lady struggled with the idea of anyone wanting hot water to drink and got quite cross about it. That all changed when the cook appeared with our full hot brekkie, it was beautifully cooked and worth the wait. Overall though I'd say that it would be better to close the hotel in the off season if you can't afford to run it properly.
