We just got back from St. Kitts Marriott and had a terrific time. We have been to several Caribbean destinations and this was one of the tops for us. The hotel was well run, very clean and the grounds manicured. We stayed in one of the out building with an Ocean View. Trinity was the name of our building and I would recommend that for privacy and quiet, top floor if you can get it. We choose to stay at the side pool for sunbathing and it was quite and close.

We ate at all three of the Marriott restaurants. Blu, La Cucina and the Royal Grille Steakhouse. I preferred the Royal Grille although the room tucked under the main hotel is nothing special, the food and service were very good. We had Brett and he was an excellent server. Blu the service was not great and the lobster was just OK for the $43 dollar price tag. I had lasagna at La Cucina and it was outstanding and I’m Italian.

The Bohemian snack bar can use work. We had a lunch there each day and the sandwiches were pretty plain and rubbery. The BBQ chicken wings were tasty and plenty. Also not bad at $9. The service here is at one speed. Island speed so get use to that, but we found the people much more friendly then in St. Thomas.

Played golf at the Royal St. Kitts. I would recommend that as well. The course is very nice and the greens were in excellent shape. Bring balls at $16 dollars for a sleeve.

We also went off property a couple of times. Did pizza at PJ just to the left of the hotel entrance, walking distance. Fair but filling and not cheap.

Also did Ottley’s Plantation. This was a great night but $$$ at $400 for two. We did have champagne and a $100 bottle of wine. Excellent setting, good service and a friendly American owner.

We would also recommend Isle of Spice near Bobsey’s. Not must in atmosphere but Chef Lynn is supposed to be the second best chef on the island compared to the Chef at Marshall’s. We never made it to Marshall’s to compare.

Our favorite part of the Marriott was the 35,000 sq ft casino. We had a great time there each evening. We met some great new friends and even left with some money, which was nice. We would like to see more $5 dollar BJ tables. There was one each night and sometimes tough to get on. Once we got to the weekend $10 dollars was the minimum for BJ action.

All-in-all we had an awesome time there and I would very much recommend this destination if you just want to relax. We felt no pressure to get up and do things, although we felt like there would be plenty to do if we choose that alternative.

If you have an direct questions I can help you with write me at ptaroli2@mac.com. I’d be happy to help.

We arrived on St. Kitts on Sunday early afternoon and immediately headed to the Marriott. Check-in was easy and we made our way to our room. We stayed on the 2nd floor of Trinity House overlooking the pool. The room was spacious and clean-actual overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals-but okay. Bathroom was very nice, enough towels, etc. The over-all property was absolutely gorgeous--good upkeep, terrific location, and it never seemed crowded.

Knowing that the Marriott is a 4-star hotel, we expected prices at the bars/restaurants to be high...but, we found them to be at least twice as high as other establishments, and, the food itself was just okay...for instance, for breakfast, we went to Calypso in the Marriott and tried to order off the menu until our server informed us it would take 30-35 mins! So, we did the buffet which was $20 each and definitely not worth it. Nothing like a breakfast buffet in Vegas or anywhere else-just so-so. We would recommend getting coffee and a muffin at the Cafe, much cheaper and you can eat at a table outside. We also ate at Blu in the Marriott one night and the fish was okay, but nothing special and over-priced…and although the beach is right there, it felt like we could've been at a restaurant anywhere...I noticed that someone else mentioned the lack of outdoor dining on the property-I noticed this too and wondered why--it seems like the thing to do elsewhere on the island and a natural plus for the property...

Because the Marriott is a 4-star property, you expect high prices, but you would also expect stellar service. Unfortunately, the over-all attitude of much of staff was sub-par. For instance, the concierge didn't seem to have information on good places to eat on the island; whenever I asked anyone for directions, recommendations, information, etc. I felt like I was a HUGE bother; and we had to just about tackle any server to bring us a drink-even sitting at the bar! And, the servers in the restaurants seemed unhappy and almost surly. This was not our experience at other locations on the island--Rock Lobster was great food and service; the Shiggidy Shack had great service; Shipwreck was very friendly; all taxi drivers we met were very friendly and accommodating...even PJ's pizza place had great service! So, I think it must be a problem with the Hotel Mgt.

Over-all use the Marriott as a home-base but I would recommend exploring the islands many other restaurants for food and drink!

My husband, 6 year old son, and myself spent our February Winter Recess at the Marriott St. Kitts. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The room was HUGE and spotless clean. We had a refrigerator, bar counterspace, desk/ office area and a tremendous bathroom and walk in closet. We stayed in a garden view room which was just fine with us. The pool is great and large with various alcoves and fun pool activities all day (music, karaoke, water aerobics, basketball, volleyball.) My son had something to do most of the time (watermelon eating contest, t-shirt decorating, jewelry making, tatoos, face painting etc...- most free, some with a small fee.)

We ate within the hotel and had some delicious food- the steakhouse and La Cucina were fantastic. The buffet style restaurant was great for a fast dinner one night and a leisurely breakfast one morning.

We stopped at IGA since we rented a car and bought cereal, milk, bottles of water, pretzels, some snacks to keep in the fridge in the room. This saved us some money and aggravation. We just weren't in the mood for a large breakfast every morning and the bagels and the cafe were close to $3 each!

We bought a bottle of wine ($10) in the Duty Free at the hotel and had a few nice glasses before dinner each night.

WE LOVED OUR RAINFOREST EXCURSION WITH GREG AT GREG'S SAFARIS. Honestly, it was the best part of our trip. You book this tour through the concierge in the hotel and Greg comes to pick you up in his Land Rover conversion jeep. It is awesome! it's handpainted in safari-theme. My son was psyched immediately. We drove the 20 minutes to the rainforest and walked for about 2 hours- leisurely, not too streneous. We saw beautiful sites and birds, plants, sounds. Cool!! At the end of the trek, Greg puts out a spread of rum punch, sweet treats (including raw sugar cane), bananas, cakes, apples, It was so much fun!

We went on a catamaran trip to Nevis with The Spirit of St. Kitts (also booked through Concierge) and had a blast. We stopped at Shitton Bay (I kid you not) for snorkeling and then a private beach on Nevis- right next to the Four Seasons- where a lunch was awaiting us. This was so great. We walked down a path into the brush to find a beautiful clearing and islanders ready to serve us! So wonderful, great food, and a cultural experience for us.

We spent a day at the Brimstone Fortress. This in definitely worth the 45 minute drive by car. My son loved walking through a "castle". We brought a cooler with drinks, a bag of chips, and a sheet. We "picnicked" by one of the ruins and overlooked the water. Also, beautiful.

We had a great time at St. Kitts. We were warned though to be aware and careful because there is some crime on the island. We avoided the towns at night and kept our doors locked, but who knows if we really needed to!

We spent one week at the Marriott from 3-11 to 3-18. The hotel is excellent and the island is a terrific vacation destination. Weather was mid 80's and mostly sunny every day. Sprinked 2 days for 2 minutes. Here is what we think:

Resort-rooms, beach and pools are terrific
Resort food-just average for lunch and dinner, above average for breakfast
Staff-most friendly
Casino-table minimums too high at $25 for craps and only one blackjack table with $10 minimum
Resort ATM-only takes Cirrus network so if you have a Plus network member, watch out
Vendors at beach-will take no and not bother you further

Airport experience-left 2.5 hrs before departure and could have stayed at least .5 hours longer

Kititians-wonderful people
Cab-find a friendly driver, ours was Mr. Kool, and have him give you an island tour ($80), take you to the airport and have him take you to restaurants and down town. Fares are very reasonable and set by the gov't.
Restaurants-we ate at Boobsys, Serendipity, Marshalls and Otleys Plantation-all were wonderful. We went at 6 :00 or 6:30 and got great tables, great food and great service. Most of dinner crowd comes around 7:30. Otleys Plantation is a must-get a 6:00 reservation and leave at 5:00 and walk around, it's beautiful. It was good to be the plantation owner. All take major credit cards.

Took the ferry to Nevis for one day. Left at 8:30 and were back by 2:00. Had a cab give us an island tour and had lunch downtown. Nice day trip.

We will go back for sure.

We just came back from a week at The Marriott.

We would never go back.

Property was wonderful. We never had towels and a hut on the same day.
Locals are very very nice but they take up the Huts & paying quests can not get them.Having ask you to buy their services drove us crazy.

We did not like the food at the Marriott so we had to always take a cab.
