this was our second visit to this very good value for money hotel.. we were here last year and loved it so much that we returned again this year and once again we were not disappointed.
We arrived to a very good welcome from the reception staff and was allocated an upgrade to a one bedroom apartment when we only booked a studio apartment.. The only downside to this was that the headboard of our bed backed onto the stage of the disco bar lol... When we got up the next day we returned to reception and they duly obliged when we asked for a room change, this time they upgraded us further to a two bedroomed apartment with a pool view..
PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO BAD REVIEWS OF THIS HOTEL AS YOU DONT GET 5 STAR ACCOMODATION FOR THE PRICE OF 3 STAR.. If there were a knit pic about this hotel it would be that i would like to have my drinks in a proper glass in the evening... I can understand plastic cups through the day as it is a mainly a swimming pool area.. A big thank you goes to all the staff at this lovely hotel for their tireless work and polite attitude to their guests and i will certainly be returning to the tamaimo at the same time again next year.. Just remember when you get to reception and they give you the key to room 189 then give it straight back and ask for a room change lol..

Room Tip: all upper rooms have a lovely pool view

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago have mixed reviews. This was for a family of 4. On the positive side of things the location was ok, nice and quiet for families, the hotel looked pretty, rooms good size etc. I'd say most of the staff were welcoming and service was quick. Pools were lovely and the entertainers who work day and night were hard working and friendly, kids loved it. Now for the negative comments....yes beds were changed daily & fresh towels but the smell in the bathroom and room along with some cockroaches you could tell they had not cleaned/bleached the toilet & floors. There was damp in the ceiling of the bathroom due to no ventilation. One evening we spent in the room we had 4 cockroaches in the room within an hour. After searching the room and pulling out the fridge we was horrified to find a hole in the wall where unearthed wires came out plugged to the fridge! No socket in the wall so that is where the cockroaches had been coming from. This was very dangerous. Food was ok a good choice and waiters/waitresses worked hard however the flies over the salads put me off, they had no electric fly catchers. In the daytime there is an open hut to help yourself to burgers, hotdogs & chips. These look and taste ok but was not so good when I saw all the pigeons the next day in the open hut on & around food and trying to scavenge food, ok they were covered but only if someone remembered to cover these, not very hygienic! The old barman in the disco bit was very rude and strange. For the amount we paid with Thomas Cook we feel we should of got more. Apart from that Tenerife is a beautiful country lots to do I would recommend Loro Parque excellent day out ashame I did not get to see more. If you want to go to main areas buses are quite expensive paid about 13euros for me and my daughter return just to visit Las Americas. I hope this has helped for your stay :-)

Me and my boyfriend, both in our mid twenty's booked this hotel for a cheap all inclusive week away. we did read the reviews before we booked but i wasn't too worried as i know that alot of people will expect 5* for a 3* price and i feel that i should try and set the record straight about this hotel.
We arrived and were allocated a one bedroom apartment, it was clean, very spacious and the air con worked perfectly.
There are two large pools, one with music playing during the day and then a quiet one. My only moan i do have about the pool is the fact that sunbeds are being reserved with towels sometimes the night before.
The bar staff work extremely hard to serve everyone quickly and were always polite and friendly. We did witness british guests been very rude and having a go at them about only being allowed two drinks at a time but if it keeps queing times down for everyone what is the problem, you can only drink one at a time!
We had no complaints at all about the food and i am very fussy but there was always something that i could eat and enjoyed. Always fish and the two other meats dishes in nice sauces, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, soups and lovely cakes for dessert!
Breakfast was lovely, fresh croissants, cereal, fruit, bacon, eggs, sausages etc
We never once found the restaurant to be dirty and there were always plenty of staff on hand if you needed anything.
In the seven days that we stayed in this hotel we only saw ONE cockroach and that was on a step outside, it certainly wasnt a problem like some past reviews have made out.
The resort of Puerto santiago is really lovely, the natural pool is definitely worth a look and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk from the Tamaimo and you can also walk into the nearby resorts of Los Gigantes which has a lovely harbour and lots of shops. Playa de la Arena is a 10-15 minute walk in the other direction and has a great beach, as the beach in Puerto Santiago is only small.
Overall i would definitely stay at this hotel again. Yeah it could do with abit of updating here and there but it is a 3* and of course you get what you pay for.
Lovely resort, Good hotel and gorgeous Tenerife weather.

My partner and I went all inclusive for one week and read the reviews before hand. We were relieved when we arrived at the hotel and found that the negative reviews were mostly untrue. The food was nice and varied, the place was not crawling with cockroaches, and our appartment was lovely and big. The downside was that the sunbeds were always full! It is also a very quiet area which is what we wanted... But expected a little more shops and nightlife!
