“I could live there”
Reviewed 11 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This gite is amazing! Not only is it well-appointed and comfortable, the warm welcome we received made us feel right at home. The furniture is comfortable, each of the two bedrooms is ensuite, the patio and garden are beautiful and the location is perfect. Somehow Sue has found the perfect spot to create an quiet oasis that is off the beaten path, yet still quite convenient to anything you might want to visit in the Dordogne. If you are offered the welcome meal, do yourself a favor and book it. It was delicious, the price is a bargain, and it served the two of us for several meals. Best of all, it was a wonderful treat after a long flight followed by a 2-hr drive in the rain. I hope to stay there again sometime.

“Perfection”
Reviewed 17 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We have just spent a week in this lovely Gite run by Sue and George. First up, I have to say they have done most of the work themselves - and it is stunning. Everything is perfect. No microwave, tick. No TV, double tick!!
A glorious stay. The weather was a bit grey and 'soft' while we were here, but the experience just lovely.
The area holds some attractions - Lascauex etc, and they are wow! But the real attraction is the peace to be found in this tiny, ancient village. Just spending two days walking to the village and back, in absolute quiet except for the wind through the trees was good. The local town, with duck breast and wine at the supermarket, send being able to cook it into our lovely little house was a great experience. To our hosts Sue and George - thank you.
I'd only say be aware the bedrooms are up narrow stairs. Just fine by us, but not for someone with a disability.

Management Response

Hi Genevieve,

Thanks for such a lovely review, we really enjoyed hosting you.

Stairs are the normal French size, but I think Australians are used to something a bit bigger.

Hope to see you both again

Sue

When we entered La Grange i wanted to cry with happiness! the photos do not do it justice as the place is very spacious and beautifully styled. Our wonderful bedroom was very country french chic with a very comfortable bed. Our two boys shared the twin room which again was super cosy and the added bonus of having their own ensuite.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want for a self catering holiday although we mainly BBQ'd in our own private garden.
Sue, George and Lucy were great hosts, super welcoming and Sue's light supper was fabulous! Lucy was like our own tour travel de tourisme - a wealth of information about EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE! the surrounding area is incredibly beautiful with a wealth of things to do and see. can't wait to go back in 2016 with ou friends.
