Casa David (and its 2 neighbours Lluis and Cris, which are also managed by Juan and Irene), has stupendous South-facing views over Cala Galdana from its 3 balconies at pool, living and bedroom levels. It has an excellent location with only a 3 minute walk down to a supermarket , central restaurant area, and beach (but it’s 5 minutes back up if you’re old and slow like us!). The hotel, below, has a v. loud poolside cabaret 9.30-1030pm which would be more tolerable if it were visible but it’s just hidden by trees.
The bedroom floor (2 bedrooms [one with balcony] and a bathroom) might be a bit cramped for 2 adult couples but would suit a family. The middle level (with kitchen, lounge, shower-room, and spacious balcony) works well. The pool, below, is 1.5m (adult chin height) at its shallowest so would be unsuitable for (especially young) non-swimmers*. The sun-warmed pool was about 24degC in mid-May whilst the sea temperature was, in the bay, c.18C
The apartments are spotlessly cleaned and reasonably equipped (for holiday lets). We missed egg cups, salad servers, and a bedside table/light for the 3rd/4th beds. For our holiday style we’d also value a dishwasher far more highly than the provided clothes washer. UK visitors will be disappointed that the SatTV’s only English channels are CNN, BBC World, and Sky News .
The let represents good value especially if occupied by 4 rather than 2. Juan and Irene were attentive to our needs and, for example, always came round to skim the pools after high wind. We really enjoyed our stay in C David, and in C Galdana
• Ca’n Cris’s pool (round the corner so slightly shaded?) appeared to have a much shallower end.
