I spent a night at Hostellerie de Bourguignonne in their charming Suite No 5. Their is an intimacy about the place and the staff friendly and helpful. Sommelier Philippe Mathiron is friendly, knowledgeable and makes suggestions without pushing.
The icing on the cake though is the food and the wine list. We were able to try the local speciality "Pochouse" which is a hearty fresh water fish dish with plenty of garlic. It was just perfect with the super rare Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" 2011 by Bernard Boisson-Vadot followed by pigeon roasted to perfection in the Rottesserie.
A sublime evening on a cool July night with the birds chirping and not a care in the world at least for the moment.

Air con wasn't working in our room and it didn't get fixed. And we weren't discounted or even offered a discount.
The restaurant was closed upon our arrival-for no reason and no warning. All the restaurants in the town were closed by 8pm so we had to settle with a kebab!
No complimentary tea and coffee...these are €4 a go. Breakfast was €14 each and definitely not even worth €5.
Staff were nice enough but could not understand the most basic of English. Like "Taxi" and times of the day. A taxi we ordered didn't turn up because they got it wrong because of the language barrier.(I'm not being ignorant English, I don't expect fluent English here but the most basics would have been helpful.)
Our stay cost €440 for 3 nights and it was absolutely not worth it. So overpriced. And in the middle of no where with nothing to do. Invest in the nearby supermarket for your breakfast and snacks. Seriously.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival at this attractive hotel, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room although not enormous was delightful and spotlessly clean & fresh, with the most comfortable bed and pillows we have encountered on our travels in France.
We did not dine in the restaurant as were too tired after a long journey but took a drink in the the bar area that was served to us with some delicious snacks.
Breakfast was a little disappointing in a very cramped serving area with only eggs, cheese or jam to accompany bread, cake or pastries, etc. no charcuterie and although we did not want it, we were not offered fruit juice
However we would return to this hotel again, hoping the breakfast may have improved!!
