“So Beautiful and Amazing!!! Couldn't ask for a Better Place”

Myself plus four friends recently stayed at this beautiful Villa and had an amazing time! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a vacation. To start we were picked up at the airport by Smally who was a great Taxi driver. He took us to a little spot at the top of the mountain where we could have a drink on the Atlantic side of the ocean and relax after such a long flight. He then took us to the grocery store so we could pick up some necessities. Getting to the Villa is a little difficult therefore, we were thankful to have Smally show us the way.

Upon arriving to the Villa we were greeted by a beautiful sight! The pool is absolutely beautiful. The Villa was completely opened up and was better than any of the photos. It was amazing and fit our group perfectly. The villa is spacious and comfortable. The master bath is huge and so beautiful. All the doors on the property open up and we kept them open each day to have all the breeze blowing through the villa.

Carlos who lives on the property was a blessing from heaven. He helped us unload the vehicle. He greeted us and hung out with us the entire time. His dog Ocean is also a beautiful soul. I missed my own dogs so much so having Ocean on property was so helpful. Ocean would come over to our Villa and lounge with us almost every morning and afternoon. Carlos would cook for us and we would cook for him. He took us around the island and showed us a beautiful waterful in Canares and took us to the Rum Factory.

Josee and Pier were also very helpful. They arrived the next day to talk to us about how to manuever around the island. Lorrie John is who Pascale told us to use for a rental car was also very helpful. She delivered the rental car the day after we arrived. It was an SUV which was perfect.

Overall it was so amazing. From the beautiful sights that the island has to offer to the wonderful help that the villa provides. We had an amazing time and only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

For all future guests.... we left a book to sign at the Villa!!!! Make sure you leave your mark!

“Look No Further - Gorgeous Villa and Amazing Hospitality”

We travelled with a large group of 12 (mix of adults and children) and rented both the top & bottom units. Units were extremely clean and spacious with new furnishings. View into the bay and ocean was spectacular. But above all, the hospitality from the owners (Pascale & Franz) and caretaker (Carlos) was over the top. From ensuring our stay was comfortable to spending the time to help plan out our stay on the island - we honestly couldn't imagine staying anywhere else on this island. We are a very well travelled group and we have never experienced the love and hospitality like this before. We have made life long friends and hope to travel back to Villa Makambu very soon. The island alone is one that should be visited, but Franz Pascale & Carlos made this one of the best holidays we have shared. Thanks for the fun and laughter and above all, sharing your villa with us.
**Tips: car rental is a must to explore island and bug repellent for the evenings (small sacrifice for paradise)

“Beautiful property and views - fabulous stay”

Villa Makambu is a large and beautifully built and decorated villa. The location up the hill has outstanding views of Marigot Bay from the villa and pool. The pool and area is huge with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. We stayed in the lower level unit and it was well-equipped with most every item you would expect to have at home, was very clean and well maintained. We were extremely impressed with the amount of food/drink items that we were provided upon our arrival – i.e.; a nice bottle of red wine, eggs, bread, milk, juice, fruit etc etc. A really nice touch! We found there was no need for air conditioning as a nice breeze blew throughout the villa daily. The landscaping and foliage in and around the property is very nice - well planned and well taken care of. The area is very private yet you are only a 5 minute drive into Marigot Bay for restaurants etc. We drove to beaches as they are much better than La Bas Beach in Marigot Bay – we went to Ti Kaye Resort twice (located on Anse Cochon cove) and loved it there for the beach, snorkelling and restaurant. Would definitely recommend the Villa Makambu for any couple as we will have wonderful memories of our time in St. Lucia because of this place!!

“A Five Star House with awesome porch & pool views & Great Hospitality!”

The place is even better than pictured, with top-notch construction, spacious lofted rooms, and wraparound covered porches with great views of Marigot Bay below. Owners Pascale and Franz have a slice of heaven here, and they are very sweet about sharing it with guests. Their caretakers Carlos and his son Lance are always present to help out too. We stayed there a week this January and our only regret is that we did not bring more friends with us to enjoy it with, as it could easily hold six guests. My wife and I had a car and it was a perfect place to explore not only the sights and restaurants and beaches of Marigot Bay, but we also made it our home base for our one hour drives to the northern tip of the island, the eastern side and the south too (Soufriere and the must-see Pitons).

We stayed in three places during our two week stay on St. Lucia, and we loved Villa Makambu so much! Very private and very relaxing...we almost did not want to leave the porch and pool...the rainbows and birds and ocean and Bay views were so gorgeous.

Our first stay in St Lucia was at a less expensive Soufriere Hotel (Still Beach) which was a less fancy place, but it was close to the Pitons and volcano, and gave you a feel for the local community. We also spent a couple glorious days at Ti Kaye Resort, which we also highly recommended (well worth the ~$400/night fees). Villa Makambu was priced in between these two, but with top end craftsmanship and service. We were greeted with rum punches and crab cakes thanks to Carlos, who helped build the estate with Franz and Pascale. We were lucky enough to be there while Pascale and Franz were there too, so we had a great time enjoying their hospitality. We hope to return there sometime!

Liked least: the beds were a little too firm for our likings, but this is likely a common experience

“Home away from home!”

Villa Makambu owner Pascale, manager Josette, and caretaker Carlos could not have been nicer. When our flight to St. Lucia was cancelled three times, Pascale did not charge us for the missed days. Josette took good care of my daughter when she arrived before we did, due to the cancellations. Carlos and Lance left us at Sugar Beach one day, and went back to Soufrière in the boat to buy us lunch. The day Carlos bought mahi mahi for our dinner, he also marinated it! The villa is lovely, and very well kitted out.
