We actually stayed at three Songtsam lodges over a span of five days: in Shangri-La, in Benzilan and in Meili. The Songtsam management team had tailored the program according to our desire to discover and enjoy a variety of scenic spots along the route which runs through the Three Parallel Rivers area of Western Yunnan, before leading into Tibet and ultimately going to Lhasa.
All three lodges delivered the same Tibetan style, the same genuine hospitality, and similarly fresh and tasty food. All three are in set in uniquely beautiful locations, and are small enough so that they never felt crowded. The Meili lodge offers stunning sunrise and sunset views on the Meili Snow Mountain range. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed, with all the amenities which one expects to find in classy boutique hotels.
We had a driver and a guide for the duration of our stay, and they were competent, friendly and eager to satisfy our curiosity and desire to roam around on foot, bicycle and by car. Similarly, the staff at the lodges were courteous and professional, making us feel very much at home in each of them.
All in all, a perfect score!

Room tip: at the Meili lodge, ask for a room with a direct view on the Kawagebo mountain

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Shangri-La and the area. The staff are delightful and the rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. Our rooms were very large suites at the back on the first floor, extremely comfortable, with all proper facilities. We were slightly disappointed with the evening meals in the hotel restaurant. Altitude and the days' exertions precluded us from venturing out, but in retrospect we may have eaten better elsewhere. That apart, we all loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

We finished our Songtsam Tour in Shangri La for 2 nights. This is a quite spot in this busy city. We had a lovely room with a view of the Monastery and the Lake. The room was huge, the bathroom fabulous and the food here is excellent. These are wonderful characterful hotels. I loved them.

I stayed there with my family for 2 nights in the family suit and it was perfect. It was luxurious and yet very homey and cozy. We arrived there in a late night hour and got a warm welcome by the hotel staff. In the morning we woke up to the beautiful garden surrounding are suit and to the lake view opposite the hotel. The breakfast was very good, and was served in nice dishes. The hotel itself is very beautiful, decorated in Tibetan traditional ornaments. The atmosphere is quiet and calming. The location is wonderful, just 5 minutes' walk from the Lama temple. I have a great regret for not staying there longer. Surely I'll be back there as soon as possible.

10 of us went on the Songtsam Circuit tour 14-24 Oct 2016 and everyone of us agreed it was one of the best holidays we had.
The itinerary was very well designed, accommodation at the Songtsam lodges was very comfortable, the food and wine very good and the staff very attentive to our needs.
Topping it all was our guide, Ringchen who was Super caring, knowledgeable and professional. So was our driver, Ah Hung who skilfully navigated the difficult mountainous terrain.
I highly recommend Songtsam .
